Just like his public school pal Barney Ronay, Glendenning is another preening posh boy who likes to mock and patronise working class football fans. The Guardian is infested with these sort of writers. They have no pedigree as proper journalists or track record for breaking stories but can write flowery prose. It's why the Guardian is one of the worst performing newspapers the media industry has seen with circulation down more than 50 per cent in the last decade. Sports journalism is being destroyed by these sort of imposters.
