It's what he said word for word in the post match press conference. Watched it on YouTube last night. From 1:40I would like to know if the back page Pep quotes today in the Daily Mail are anywhere else, certainly not that I have seen in a variety of titles.
They describe Pep as bullish and the quotes seem VERY OUT OF CHARACTER...not to mention, disrespectful. Totally took his words out of context.
"Against Leicester, one of the most talented teams right now, we are going to get three more points. Then go to Brighton to get the win, the points we need to get back-to-back. Be calm again, we don't have a game until next Monday so we'll rest a little, recover a bit."
Manchester Evening News version: "Now it is two games, be calm again. We will rest and recover a bit and against Leicester - one of the most talented teams right now - we are going to (TRY TO) get three more points to go to Brighton to get the points we need to get back-to-back titles."
As someone who had to learn verbatim shorthand in court hearings, it is evidently clear to me that either the writer or the sub-editor has twisted the Pep quotes.
It's fucking not on and City should be right on the bastards.
The Daily Mail back page intro is Pep Guardiola was bullish. The entire premise of the piece is stood on them turning it.
If I was Brendan Rodgers, no team talk would be required on reading that.
It's weird, around this time last year, you couldn't open a paper or check a sports site without seeing an article about how we weren't the greatest PL team of all time because we had to defend our title for that to be true. Now we stand on the verge of doing that and there does not seem to be hundreds of articles stating we are on the verge of now being the greatest PL team of all time? Weird that, presumably they just don't want to jinx it
They constantly move the goal posts,if we win it will be but they have to win the CL before they are a great team, the state of the UK footbal media has never been worseIt's weird, around this time last year, you couldn't open a paper or check a sports site without seeing an article about how we weren't the greatest PL team of all time because we had to defend our title for that to be true.
