Out of interest, what are they? What are they doing different here to any other government?
Have a quick look at amnesty international and see how the UAE government treat any dissent in the country. Indeed there are plenty of other examples of countries with terrible human rights records but whataboutery doesn't diminish the facts about the UAE.

Again I am not sure has he blamed us? It would become boring for others if we won it every year for neutrals just like we all think the race in the Bundeliga is boring.

Anyways lets hope we enjoy this dominance and have this problem to worry about. I think you have ignored the paragraphs of platitudes about the team and misinterpreted a slight but its all about opinions, so fair enough and thanks for the reply.

I agree if we win everything it would be boring. I’d be bored. We’re not United fans.

I’ve not read the piece in question but, do they point to really poor missmanagement at other clubs?
We’re no doubt excellent but other teams should be performing much better.

It’s not our fault Sours won’t spend money, Arsenal kept Wenger for 7 years too long or United have been woefully mismanaged and Chelsea have zero continuity and Liverpool have a wacko in charge and their fans make succes a near impossibility with the pressure they apply on themselves.

We’re supplying arms to the Saudis mate.
Ok, we’re not actually killing Yemenis ourselves but it’s akin to holding the bully’s coat for him while he kicks the shit out of someone smaller and weaker.

To be honest the article does not go into that much depth of the reasons why.

More touches on how were far ahead of our rivals and as the Prem brands itself on the belief everyone can beat everyone. Have a read, its pretty positive article

I assume you’re referring to the issues that migrant workers face over there?

Whilst I agree it’s poor. The UAE government actually made the process of taking passports illegal. Granted it’s just a law that isn’t really enforced. But it’s the companies that implement that practice. The company building the new Spurs ground are big in the UAE, so they are guilty of it. A good friend of mine worked at the Fairnont on the Palm, she had her passport taken.

I do agree, it’s a sad state of affairs, but surely the nations who’s citizens feel their only hope is the Middle East is the only need to shoulder some blame?

I notice you’re in Brazil, the human rites out there are abysmal, they are all over Latin America.

My main problem is the hypocrisy, the UK, the USA are held up as some sort of bastions of morality and fairness, who the fuck are we to put our beak in?

There maybe thousands of migrant workers in shite conditions in the UAE, there’s thousands of homeless in this country. There’s sex slavery, we use black sites for torture and execution without trial.

American lock children up in cages and remove them from their families. They execute children & the mentally ill.
They refuse aid as a weapon & have a big torture colony on Cuba. Teacher, Doctor or terrorist, you get treated the same.

You are on record as saying Man City is owned by a government. We are not. It could be stated that we are owned by one individual (we are not we are owned by a Chinese company and an Abu Dhabi based company) so how can an individual or Man City be blamed for what a nation does on its own soil.

Here is what Amnesty International has to say

Torture and other ill-treatment
Further reports emerged that grave human rights violations had been committed with the knowledge, complicity and, in some cases, in the presence of intelligence officers, including in Bangladesh, Egypt, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, and that officials had attempted to cover up the country's involvement.

The country that Amnesty International is reporting about is the UK. The whole world is pretty much shit when it comes to governments and what they will do.

So when reporters spend as much time linking human rights violations in the UK and tarring UK owners as not doing enough as they do with our owners then I will start listening you cannot pick the bad guys because they are different from you

I'm still not sure why, if you want to protest against UAE you have to do it through a football club.

Seems to me that those that insist this is a Man City issue a more interested with football rivalries than human rights.
