IMO Pep has every right to say this and demand more from us, the fans. Our support at home is usually average at best. We can be very lazy fans and leave it up to the few who try to give vocal support.

I sometimes think what Pep must make of us. We are watching the best ever City team and yet an awful lot of us continue to sit in silence during our home games.

He wants to give the team the best chance of getting through tomorrow and a fantastic atmosphere will help.

I think a lot of Blues will make an extra effort tomorrow, partly as a result of what our manager has said.
Unless you're sat (stood) in the singing section it can be difficult to get a chant going.
The amount of times I've starting chanting or trying to get a song going (often as a lone voice) and I get looked at as though I'm some kind of lunatic.
Certain area's of the Etihad does not readily lend itself to atmosphere.

We were some of the best supporters in the land in the third tier , 30k at home matches and our support was deservedly praised for our loyalty to our football club , a bit of success comes our way and we are now the worst supporters in the country , its just plain envy and jealousy from the media and opposition supporters. Our following hasnt changed (maybe a few more day trippers and some existing fans priced out of going)but at a rough guess i would say it is still probably 90% local support. Maybe its other peoples perception of our football club is the thing that has really changed ,because our support is still as loyal as it has ever been.

Pissed off with this quiet shit...it's as much the club's fault putting the away section in between our two singing sections instead of sticking them in a corner and not giving us a whole stand behind the goals
I've been saying it for years. The away section should be up on the third tier out of the way.

This is very true, just look at the about turn by the media with Raheem, Raheem hasn't changed in the last few years, he hasn't matured, he has been as good all along. But now the media can't get behind him quick enough. I don't care what others think of our support, I've seen it all over the last fifty years and the ones doing most of the moaning never go near a football ground, aka our rag friends.

Pep would've been quite used to a quiet stadium from his days at Barca!
And that's the truth. I also think that Bayern fans are amongst the quietest in Germany. The most raucous games we have seen at the Etihad including Barcelona, PSG, and many Derby matches are as good as any crowds at the Allianz Arena and the Camp Nou. There are so many lies spread in the media about atmosphere at stadia generally. Most Premier League grounds are very quiet most of the time.
I have seen City away many hundreds of times but nothing has come close to Poznan or even Aris Salonika. In this country Elland Road is as good as anywhere and much noisier than Liverpool whatever the BBC says. Old Trafford has been like a morgue for at least 10 years, including Derby matches.
There are too many social media fanboys who never attend matches and have no idea about what makes a great crowd.

We need safe standing behind the whole length of the goal, boot the away fans to somewhere else out of the way...
It's not the stadium it's the positioning of fans, we need our vocal support concentrated .... Tomorrow we need every man jack singing their lungs out for 90 minutes....

Spot in. I went to shitfield in Peps first season and it was crap. We are not robots.

I am pretty sure you'll have seen this before. Back in 2001, 40% of City's seasoncard holders were living in Manchester, compared to 29% for Man Utd.

I think a lot of City's out of town support have links to the area. Maybe moved out, or parents used to live there.

Yes i do remember this report , good spot , and like you say our long distance support may not now have a M post code , but they usually do have an a affiliation with Manchester through relatives etc., our fan base will increase with the "blue is my favourite colour" brigade , and no doubt our clubs social media presence will be all the better for it :(

Can't believe Pep fell into the trap of saying he wants City fans to turn up against Spurs. He gave the snakes all the ammunition they wanted, so they can get their digs in now and print more rubbish. Needs to smarten up a bit at these pressers does Pep.
