So If the champions league world club's biggest competition , the second most watched sporting event in the universe after the World cup final is just a glorified cup competition, what can we say about the two cups you won part of your treble and how relevant they become if club's biggest trophy is just a glorified cup? Just asking for a friend hahah
Something you fuckers will never do! Just answering for a friend.

Our three domestic trophies are about consistence over a whole season. Your lot gave up on the League/FA Cup to 'concentrate on the PL', and you only got to the CL final off the back of some pretty dubious decisions, so yeah, enjoy your moment in the sun.
The poster he quotes is right about it being a glorified cup. That’s exactly what it is. It no more denotes the best team in Europe than using the FA Cup as a barometer for the best side in England.

When Wigan and Portsmouth won it, their fans loved it and rightly so, but not one of them thought their team the best side in England. Scousers aren’t particularly sharp so probably won’t understand.

I managed to go all weekend without checking any sport media because I knew it would be a Liverpool love-in (after largely ignoring our historic treble before)...

Just slipped up, and my god it is worse than I thought. Nearly every outlet’s first 15 stories are about how amazing Liverpool are (after winning one of the most dire cup competition finals in living memory).

Back to self-imposed media exile for me for another few weeks.

1. Nice asspull on the most viewers stat, but the Superbowl would like a word. Oh and the confed cup final. And others too.

2. It's a glorified cup competition, factually. The FA Cup and League Cup are also, but then we won the Premier League (again) and don't really need to look to those for our acclaim.

Super Bowl and Confed cup do rank below CL for global audience however the World Cup, Tour de France and Olympics all pull higher figures.

Tell your friend he might spend a lifetime without a league title .. you should be crying for him instead of laughing ..

You shouldn't forget that a whole country were watching the CL Final this year. Alright it was Denmark, but that's still a whole country, and we wouldn't even get a whole city watching us.

So the papers are at it again glorifying the scousers champions league win. There was less said in the papers about us winning all the domestic cup comps, then there was about the scousers winning the champions league. Someone should tell the bosses at UEFA that a team that a team that finishes 2nd or below are not champions and there fore should not be in that competition.
