There’s sometimes a very small gap between winners and losers but it’s that small gap that separates the greats from the very goods

History is littered with top sportsmen and teams who more often than not couldn’t quite take the final step to victory that would make them great

Roddick and Murray in tennis

Frazier arguably in boxing

The famous Bills nfl team that lost 4 super bowls on the bounce
Jimmy White in snooker made 6 world finals without winning.

Kings of the late goals I'll have you know
It’s a bullshit stat anyhow

Take the dippers today, Sky will glory in including that as a point gained from a losing position whereas it could be argued that they lost two points from a winning position.

Either way, today’s result makes it more likely that they’ll yet again fail to win the title from a winning position.

Fuck off Redknapp you little ponce

“This Liverpool team will go down as one of the great teams in history”

1 league title in 8 years, couple of penalty shoot out wins in cup comps, beating the mighty European greats Spurs to win the CL
8th, 5th, 4th, 4th, 3rd 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st*.

It's not exactly the league positions you would expect from one of the great teams in history is it?

Jim White struggling to deal with that positivity there. Looked through his notes to find something to hit back with, then changed the topic something rapid.
He was also trying to find his bottle of whiskey.
