Agreed, however psychologically does it not also work in our favour? If during a tight run in the other teams/fan bases already think they are beaten then chances are they will be beaten.
It‘s why I think nonsense about unlimited resources and the ‘inevitability’ of City winning exerts a mental dominance that works in our favour.
Personally, I will only accept we have a chance of the title if we are 9 points clear with 3 games left. Even then I have my doubts. 50 years of supporting City has left some scars.
There’s unquestionably something in that, and from some points of view that undertone that Somthing Bad Is Coming is probably quite apt. Last night for instance you wouldn’t say Brighton were beaten before they kicked off, but the crowd had the stuffing knocked out of them within half an hour. If you’re 3-0 down at home with an hour to play a raucous crowd is your biggest advantage but you didn’t hear a peep from them.
It’s an ill wind…
