It is 7.30pm and, given that the 'Match Thread' is (unusually) a tad confusing regarding tonight's team, I went on to the BBC's footy page to get confirmation of who's in the starting XI for us at Young Boys.

Barca-Shaktar leads the page, followed by a preview of Celtic at Atleti. Then there's news of Rooney's first home game as Birmingham (oh joy!) and confirmation that some goomer named Gakpo will be fit for Liverpool's tie in the Thursday Night Selling Platers' Cup. And so on and so on..

On City? There is nothing. Rien. Niente. Nada. At all. Not even the starting team hidden among the other reports.

I don't expect or want the media to blow smoke up our jaxies like they've always done with the Red Filths at either end of the East Lancs and the North London Red Filth.

But I do expect at least some coverage and information about our latest qualifying game in the biggest club football competition on the planet of which, by the way, we are the current champions and title holders, to be included in the general football page of our national broadcaster.

The lack of respect is appalling. And people still say (less regularly though, thankfully) that there is no agenda against City.

You'd think they don't like us mate.

Shearer on 5 live just now:-
"They have done things the right way here at Newcastle. They have been very shrewd in the transfer market, unlike Manchester City."

WTAF!

He's a thick Geordie prick which is why he ended up with one trophy instead of a basket full. I'll give him credit for turning the rags down but it wasn't the wisest move. Like his career, when Newcastle have won half the total of trophies we have he can start saying they've spent wisely, until then he'd be better off keeping his trap shut.

Net spend last 5 years Newcastle £416m, City £314m. Thick **** Shearer, remind us how you did as a manager
I've seen quotes before from Newcastle, saying the same, but where they made it clear that they couldn't spend big with FFP, so were having to be careful, whereas when we were bought, we had freedom to spend in a more carefree way.

That's probably a fair summary, given the money we spent early on, but as with anything, it gets boiled down to an ignorant soundbite by our wonderful media, and the genius ex-players.

Someone posted similar on our last champions league game in fact it may have been the opening game of the group for the defending champions of Europe and it was similar no mention of the match taking place,it’s absolutely deliberate, but you can bet if we lose they’ll have articles by the dozen, sickening how an English club gets treated as a foreign/overseas club ..

There's no singular city/YB watch along on the grun, both the rags and Tarquins had one yesterday and the geaudis have one tonight

BBC stuffed to the gills with infantile red cunts.

No wonder they painted over his pictures in the subways in Newcastle, thick ****.
