I think he is being built up to Messi status and being used as a stick to beat City with - the one that got away. Apart from a very good goal in the Super Cup, does anyone remember Palmer having any kind of impact coming off the bench for us?
Good luck to him, it was a good move, but for both parties.
Yeah I've no issues with him and hes clearly talented and doing well at Chelsea. I just don't get the hype. He was pretty quiet yesterday other than the pen, yet the media would have us all believe he shone for Chelsea yesterday when in reality 3 of their 4 goals were all down to bad errors on our part.

The hype will go away now they've played City, I suspect anyway.

Yesterday was the lastest and on-going example of bias match commentary against City in favour of the opposition. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Rags, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, etc, the narrative is always the same. Drury was absolute disgrace yesterday. He should be utterly ashamed of the way he commented on the game. His bias is no different to Tyler’s bias against City. As for Spitty. Why the fuck is a Scouser, an ex-Liverpool player and Captain, who clearly hates City, commentating on City games? Sly Sports Football are fucking disgrace, setup and run to push the Red Shirt clubs narrative.

We've had some shockingly biased coverage since 2008 and all that but the most awful in my memory was in 2011 when we played Dynamo Kiev away in the UEFA/Europe Cup, all down to the Drury/Beglin combo.

It was like it was the 'Andriy Shevchenko Show' for starters. But worse, City were ignored, laughed at, patronised, disregarded throughout by the two commentators in an appalling presentation of the game to those of us watching back home.

Drury can be a good commentator but that day he let himself down with an unprofessional performance, seemingly being sucked into the negative 'bantz' that had been developing around City over three years or so.

As for Beglin, well he's just one of the long list of self-entitled Red Scousers of limited football intelligence who spoil the televising of games for so many viewers, whoever they support.
Over the years we certainly have…..

Funny watched a few of the media videos and they like to criticise our defence point out where they went wrong, they then wank over sterling Gallagher and palmer! Not once did they criticise Chelsea's defence or how good Foden was and mainly a few of our attacking players!

Remember we are at Chelsea they've spent 1.5b on fantastic young players!

Maybe it's because just so massive and rarely make so many mistakes letting in 4 goals and the media are just going to dine on all that was wrong with Man City!!?

He must be the first player to score against his old team,…ever! What a f’kin furore!
The media had the motm in their collective back pockets before the game had even kicked off. Its another stick to beat us with, the why did City let such a talented player leave, what a mistake ect ect narrative was all very predictable. Let's see at the end of the season when the trophies are being won where Chelsea are and where we are.

I think he actually started crying at one point
I switched the sound off after the pen it was so bad and desperate against city but I thought he was trying to get a message to VAR say six of one etc.
On a related point I am also sick of this well done for leaving city for game time line. Has he ever congratulated a y other clubs youngsters for leaving .They were hoping with Sancho but it didn't work out.
This lack of game time malarkey is something I think city need to lack at .its too easy for some smart arse agent to make a pile of money and a club that's never lifted a finger to double their money.
Need to look at a different approach , maybe if someone merits game time low buy backs til they're say 23 to keep control. I suppose the problem is city want the money on from the academy. But is this right. McAtee has another Palmer written all over him. What if Rico fancies a piece of the action too.
Need to consider our approach very carefully imo.
