The mendacious and craven BBC doing the bidding for GB news and Tufton Street with their main page running an anti UAE lead, anyone would think the UAE are trying to buy the Telegraph….

"Alison was poor against City but that was because he'd just flown back from Brazil..."
I'm waiting for the media/tv analysis of Ederson's outstanding performance on Saturday.

Not only top class saves but out-of-this-world distribution throughout the game.

Some of his passing to set up/continue play was so good it was almost like David Silva was back in the team. Said it often enough.. this lad could play in midfield for most championship teams.

Every goalkeeper in the football pyramid should have a video copy of Eddie's performance last Saturday to refer to when looking to improve their own distribution. Not that they'd know much about it, given that it passed MOTD et al by, it would appear..

Seems I'll have to keep waiting for any kind of media appreciation of Eddie and how he (along with Pep) has revolutionised the goalkeeper's art.. along with other, similar media 'appreciations' like, for example, 'Manchester City -Treble Winners 2023'.. mind, I don't suppose the media's got much room for such at the moment, what with all the 'Cole Palmer - Superstar' and 'Garnacho - Wunderkind' features/documentaries they're showing..

To be fair to the much maligned Garth Crooks, he did pretty well say exactly this about Ederson in his Team of the Week review: "The pass from Ederson to Bernardo Silva towards the end of the first half couldn't have been better delivered by Colin Bell, Yaya Toure or David Silva"

It starts from the totally false premise that the UAE had a terrible reputation prior to the takeover and that buying us was a cynical attempt to 'sportswash' that.

I'll be honest, I consider myself well-informed but I couldn't have placed Abu Dhabi on a map or named anyone associated with it prior to 2008. Buying City has had the effect of bringing Abu Dhabi to prominence, and highlighting various issues there, rather than glossing over them. Anyone with half a brain should be able to see that, a demographic that doesn't appear to include the three authors of that paper.
This is the best answer I have read to the anti-Arab league in the press and on the radio. It should be compulsory reading for Delooney, Conn et al.
