Speaking as an American who is also a long time City supporter as was my father before me.
WOW JUST FUCKING WOW

How any of that even remotely suggests sports washing is way beyond the understanding level of my pay grade.
He's suggesting that the good ol' US of A isn't as squeaky clean as it expects other countries to be, but when you're powerful - you make the rules.

I agree it doesn't but I think he was just pointing out America has moral issues just like the human rights in certain countries. Neither has anything to do with football but one is often used by the press to downgrade and tarnish a clubs reputation and the other is ignored to maintain clubs outlook as whiter than white.

This really is pathetic. If these so called journalists believe this than way do they just concentrate on two football clubs ?

Horse racing, cycling, F1 plus other sports have huge middle east support and following. Our government also has huge interest in middle east funding.

Yet its little old City and Newcastle that are the problem lolol.

The football press/media in this country are a fucking disgrace.if they truly believe in sportswashing than call out the other sports.
Call out arsenal for their stadium sponsor.
Call out the fa for the fa cup sponsor.
Call out the cycling teams sponsor.
Call out the government.
Call out all football clubs with middle east sponsors. They dont because those clubs are their pay masters.
If it was only that simple. Journalist, if you can call them that, are only interested in clickbait traffic. The dippers & rags are hurting that they're no longer dominating so will jump all over anything that shows City in a negative light & City fans jump on it showing the hypocrisy so it's double money for these types of articles.
The media were mentioning the migrant situation at every opportunity during the build up to the world cup but has strangly gone quiet now they are looking at buying the rags.

We’ve all dug our own countries out as well before you get upset.

That's because they were considered to be taking part as individuals not as representatives of a regime. Tennis players were too.
That can be a very convenient interpretation though. For example, the media assume this banker Sheikh who is trying to buy the rags has £6bn in his back pocket and his close ties with the Qatar Government are irrelevant.

So many rags in the media it’s untrue. Also an infinite amount of plastics in Ireland not taken kindly to our success!

No please don't. Freddie Laker was a pioneer. He took on the big boys, British Airways etc that had all the good routes and were price fixing. They basically ganged together and did his legs. The rags would be British Airways, heavily in debt, owed by foreigners and hated by everyone
You are right. Man Utd is like a bloated old corporate organisation that feeds off former glories and has arrogant leaders who have struggled to adapt to the competitive forces in the game. Their sense of entitlement must be so very frustrating and saddening for them. The club, their fans etc must cry into their hands everyday and their only respite is watching episodes of the Premier League years from the 1990s on Sky, when United used to hoover up the best players from their competitors.
