UK population is 68 million. Way more than half of that number have no interest in football so that leaves us with c25 million people. Let's say 10% of those read the football press and maybe 10% of those believe the garbage that's written.....you're down to a couple of hundred thousand people/excitable muppets (not aimed at anyone on here cos we're such a level headed bunch ;-) ). In comparison, like it or not, our global brand now stretches across tens if not hundreds of millions of blues across all corners of the world, they don't know who Oliver Holt is, they couldn't give two shits either.....most of them can't even read English, many can even read at all. City's brand isn't damaged by these fuckwit "journalists" because our brand is maintained on the pitch by the style of football we play, the quality and professionalism of our players and staff, and our success domestically and abroad. To challenge them would validate their existence.....so we ignore them and eventually they'll be replaced with the next generation of sports writers, many of whom will have been brought up knowing nothing but exciting free flowing dynamic football which has set new standards at home and abroad.....our owners are playing the long game, they ain't daft.

I'm not sure what the club think the advantage is anymore to being compliant and non-combative.
Things have reached a stage whereby we are automatically considered guilty and at fault in ANY slightly controversial situation.
The public have been groomed to believe we are completely corrupted.
It is time the club fought back and banned the media agents of biased news reports. We are in unchartered territory here.
Never has a football club been so vilified to this extent, and with public opinion so acquiesced to msm comment pieces, the pl can easily kangaroo us out of the league with zero evidence and zero public sympathy.
Something has to break. The club must fight back.
Even banning the sports reporters now wouldn't bring any additional negative press because the news is saturated with it anyway.
When we are shotgunned out of the league, and as the board resign en masse, they would do well to reflect on how, over the last decade, they brought an inflatable banana to a fecking RPG fight.
Part of me is more annoyed with the club than the media hacks. They have allowed the institution I love to be dragged into the mire with little more than a shrug of the shoulders.
By fuck, they had better have a smoking gun in this pl court case, and then machine gun the fuckers in the media afterwards, in a 'night of the long knives' manoeuvre!!!!

My phone never stops with constant abuse from morning until night. Especially with Liverpool in the mix this season it has ramped up. Not from Manchester but going to games whenever possible since the 80s. Getting tiring now defending the club.

Haaland alone has 37m followers just on Instagram...a bigger audience than all the mainstream UK media.

I was JUST about to read Oliver Holt's woeful take on his view of Haaland's actions of which he asked 'how long do we put up with' players that are "thuggish" multi-millionaires and the page suddenly disappeared!

I'm sure it will reappear with a different type of headline, but I thought it was interesting how quickly it appeared and disappeared!

The UK media are playing to an audience that mostly hate City.

The long game in this country mentioned above has failed miserably. Globally the club is respected - in the UK and Ireland we are despised.

A big chunk of the UK media is now written by spotty interns writing solely for clicks - so the idea this will ever change in the UK media is wrong.

You only need to watch the whitewash in place in the last 24 hours - we have gone from the victims of a horrendous error to the transgressors in just a few hours.

Will never change.
