To be fair I remember City going to the Munich Memorial when they played Bayern 10 years or so ago, I thought as an Arsenal fan that was a classy touch from a rival to do that and do it for genuine reasons and not a PR exercise.

Edited to add I see City did the same last season as well when they played Bayern, again, classy touch.
Yes I went on the earlier one. City supplied a coach from the hotel for both supporters and club officials along with a wreath which I think Bernard Halford and another laid. I took a few photos at the time, people there, the plaque that sort of thing but dont know where they are now. It was a solemn occasion as the majority of the people there remembered the crash and it just seemed right as a City supporter to attend the site of both a Manchester and a United tragedy.

Newcastle are getting much less hostility than we got considering they are actually owned by a Sovereign Wealth Fund (ie a state). One possible reason for this is that they are much better and more proactive than we have been with Public Relations and Communications.
I think it's because they are good for coverage too, a new area for followers and subscribers and not a direct local rival of their darlings, so much less "in yer face" if they do something good. I don't think they will get level of hostility we do which kind of supports the point of how much Liverpool and United are behind it.

Anyone any idea why city are bottom of group G on bbc website, below Red Star - always alphabetical when no games played.... but .aybe answered my own question!

Not sure. Two teams have a point so maybe they give Red Star their real name but United are bottom too and no games played in their group.

Are TNT openly mocking Ferdinand? “Will United challenge?’, to a big grin from Lescott.

I think Bradford played Lincoln on the day of that terrible fire, but I don't recall the media ever caring over much about the victims these days.
That same day a supporter was killed at Birmingham City v Leeds Utd following serious crowd disorder. Can't even remember who the lad supported. At any other time it would have been a major news story but thanks to the terrible events at Bradford was almost overlooked. To my shame I was so euphoric over the Charlton match I had little interest In anything else. It has always surprised me that the Valley Parade tragedy does not receive the same coverage as Hillsborough.

I am sure it wasn't a publicity stunt apart from human decency Frank Swift also died in that tragedy. A fact too many City fans forget.
Spot on, I read the Holt piece and it's actually a good article which also slots in a disparaging dig at their present predicament. Anyone who finds fault with that article just because it's Holt needs to have a good think about their anger issues (and perhaps try reading it).
