Opinion has no value unless it is based on facts. The concept of "image-laundering" is totally false. Sheikh Mansour and Silverlake are driven by profit like every other investor in the world. So Jordan is only entitled to his opinion in the way that David Icke thinks the world is controlled by lizards. Jordan's mask has slipped on many occasions in the past when he has been making comments about businessmen of Arabic origin. He is more careful these days because he is keen to protect his "brand."

I amazed that people still handwring about Abu Dhabi using City for "sportswashing". There is no evidence to support it at all, and Jordan must know that.

You can hear the pain in Stone when he`s talking shite ,sounds like he`s on 60 Park Drive`s a day the gravelly voiced turd ,the look on Peps face said it all ,he should be banned from the Stadium what benefit in letting him in he will still talk shite regardless ,he`s getting a la carte for ripping in to us ffs .

The term "sportswashing" is a recent slogan created by human rights organisations. It is a clever way to use the leverage of football and its huge audience to try and draw attention to human rights abuses. All states in the Gulf region are diversifying the way they raise revenues to replace their dependency on oil. Most of them are pushing tourism, leisure, and sport because of the huge revenues they bring. It is nothing to do with trying to deflect attention from human rights abuses which happen all over the world. It is a false narrative which doesn't stand up to any scrutiny. Sheikh Mansour is a private investor who is very clever with his money. The so-called journalists who keep raising this issue (a dwindling bunch these days) are not acting in good faith. They can't provide any evidence for their malicious stories.

When asked specifically about the term "sportswashing", the crown prince (of Saudi) said: "I don't care. I have 1% GDP growth from sports and I'm aiming for another 1.5%. Call it whatever you want - we're going to get that other 1.5%."
So much for the great sportwashing conspiracy!

Also, I thought that was a brilliant presser. Not specifically by Pep, but the fact that they couldn't come up with one decent question about the game, which proves they aere not really interested in the football.
If/when it kicks off on Sunday, whether it be a coach attack, chanting or fan fighting, it will be them that have caused it by trying to talk it up and they will be the first to condem - regular as clockwork this lot.

Brilliant post, and spot on, why are so many in the media like sheep( not as many as there use to be granted)

The disrespect, the inability to read the interviewee, the unoriginal repetitiveness...no wonder he fcking hates doing pressers.
Compare and contrast to a Kloppy rimming session.

The guy forgets more every day than these other morons will ever know about football, and all they want is stupid soundbites. Take the opportunity to learn something you stupid fuckers. The state of the press in the UK. Good God .....

And during the World cup when jordan and white interviewed the chairman of PSG they never asked about sports washing
Afterwards, when they were asked why, they said "we ran out of time"
The fucking cowards

Pep is tired and sick of it, look at him, but the fucking media cockroaches, yes, you cunts, reading this post and the thread, never give up. The lot of you make every City fan sick to the stomach, including me.

At least Pep has seen off the Media's choice of manager. Regardless of what happens on Sunday he has out performed Klopp.

How Pep answers that question on Armstrong is pure Clint Eastwood disdain from Dirty Harry. And I love the dig about Dippers and Arse needing more than 90 minutes to win a game as well. What a legend Pep is.
Funny how life doesn’t really change, disdain is the right word

Doubtless these journos were the nerdy geeky friendless weirdos at school and Pep was the cool popular sporty guy too busy playing football and talking to girls to bother with them

Fast forward a few decades and Pep clearly can’t be arsed talking to the boring fuckers with their pointless questions

Brilliant response from Pep!
I just still don't understand, why we don't set the rules beforehand. Questions only about the game coming up. Any other questions will be completely ignored. If you keep asking 'non-relevant' questions you are banned for the next press conference. End of.

I doubt Pep has ever watched a day of test match cricket, yet he understands completely the value of letting some balls sail on through to the keeper without offering a shot.
