It's been on the BBC website for ages as well. Actually he ended up paying £1.042 as there were costs and a victim surcharge. Plus he got points on his licence! Poor Jack they'll make a big thing of it because he's one of ours (although being AV Captain was mentioned in the BBC report.)
He was speeding ...no mention of an accident or of anyone else being involved so why a victim surcharge?
Please do not infer from my saying 'poor Jack' that I am condoning his speeding, I am definitely not, there are speed limits for a reason and should be adhered to IMHO. I'm saying 'poor Jack' because if he had still been at AV it probably would not have been noticed.
