Media discussion - 2024/25

More mindless rubbish to undermine City and promote controversy where none exists.

UEFA convention records the final score for coefficients so the result for City v Real Madrid was a draw - both on the day and over the two legs. Someone has to go through in a knockout competition and in this case it was on penalties. Previously decisions have been made on away goals, the toss of a coin or currently on penalties. It maybe pedantic but you can lose the tie and win or draw the game

Had City played at the Etihad first and lost on penalties away at the Bernabau would they still claim City had lost at home so the record could not stand? As City fans we have come to expect this level of puerile pettiness from our detractors who cannot accept our success.
The fact there was zero mention of breaking the record in the media sums up what we are up against with the red loving media.
The fact it irked Ferdinand is enough for me to celebrate the record we broke

We are the pantomime villain, it generates massive interest from the enormous seethe. All the whilst claiming we are irrelevant because we don’t have a nationwide fan base.
If we’d have scored that goal 15 minutes into the first half none of this shit would be going on. They can’t handle us scoring a last minute winner. Those goals are strictly reserved for the red tops

But under the rules from Uefa, FIFA and IFAB state we didn't lose that tie as it was Draw after 210 mins. The penalty shootout was to determine who progresses to the next round and doesn't effect the result at fill time.

The record books show we drew that quarter final tie
The reference to the record is on UEFA's website. City haven't made a single post about it. It's got all the Gooners, Red Scousers and Rags frothing at the mouth.

I think you are right, they definitely had the "City drop points" bunting out around the studio.

Must have hurt them to have to rip it down so quickly, hence all that bitter no goal bullshit.

City, ruining sky presenters moods since 2008..........lol.

I imagine those idiots think the toss of a coin after teams finished level was part of the game. Maybe next time we play Real we should have the best of three. They went through on pens and we would have won on away goals, so the two captains can decide the outcome with the ref flipping a coin in the centre circle. Then again, I think we will just keep our record.
