Media law is clear. If they leave them unmoderated they aren’t responsible
If they do moderate and still leave libellous comments online then they are deemed to be the publisher and 100% liable
Amazed we haven’t challenged this once. Our media team really are shite
As I found out (see Gonzalez thread) libellous comments are apparently fine as they don't breach the 'house rules' as they are deemed 'personal opinions' and therefore bbc are apparently not liable for publishing them(!) Go figure...

The BBC threads are poison. I have been silenced for responding numerous times. I no longer read them. Its rag central.

They’ve gone one better just now. Adrian Durham (who’s normally very good on City) just did a long piece on if we lose to Madrid Pep should be sacked. Spent 5 minutes waffling about this failure and that whilst failing to acknowledge Pep has won everything there is to win and set just about every record there is to set over the past 8 years.

I had a little chuckle to myself and did the only thing I could and switched him off as he dug his hole deeper and deeper. Ratings must be struggling that’s all I can think.
Clear and obvious

Any cink of light to get rid of pep from premier league it was his marriage last month

I replied to one of the many 115,cheque book pep cheaty city with "jealous much " promptly removed .

The BBC, as publisher, is responsible for the comments on their site. We should threaten them with lawyers over some of the comments they allow on their stories.

Not disputing any of the above or suggesting this makes the situation any better but just for some context. The BBC moderators are just a bunch of Gen Z dick heads that sit around one desk with their heads stuck in their phones all day on "Insta". They don't have a particular interest in football and certainly would have no idea what #115 meant. They moderate other areas that they have equally no interest or knowledge of. They moderate (poorly often) from a set of guide lines.

That sounds like the BBC is creating their own liability by giving moderation short shrift.

But the bbc shouldn’t be employing people unsuitable to do the job, makes as many excuses for it as you want but it’s clear & obvious that City fans are being treated snidely, now whether that is due to ignorance or bias isn’t important.

Fans of other clubs clubs are equally sure it's clear & obvious fans are being treated snidely. Both Tory and Labour voters are equally sure the bias is against the party of their choice.
Ultimately whoever they had in the role they would get the wrong answer in the eyes of some.
And this at a time when FB are removing fact checking and allowing "free speech".

Mate, take your head out of the sand, you’ve just given an excuse that it kids that don’t know what they doing & I’ve said that’s unacceptable.

Yes, but the fans of other clubs, Labour and Conservative voters (or indeed anybody engaging in voting imagining it matters), people on Facebook, BBC employees and anybody who watches the BBC are all wrong and stupid.

If you aren’t offended by this post, I’m amazed as I thought it was a catch all. I did another post earlier today which garnered 22 likes and I feel I must make amends.

Now, back to The Repair Shop.

I haven't got my head in the sand and I haven't given an excuse. I haven't said if it's right or wrong just reporting facts.
I asked my wife to find out who moderates posts/how/when/where/why. This is what she found out.

“The BBC moderators are just a bunch of Gen Z dick heads that sit around one desk with their heads stuck in their phones all day on "Insta".”

This is the excuse & if they can’t do the fucking job, get people who can. I’m sure your wife wouldn’t last long if she couldn’t do it properly.

Not my wife but the BBC is full of people who can't do the job, it's essentially public sector-it's awash with wasters stealing a living. Have you have dealt with a single person at the council/civil service that you remotely felt were able to do a good job?

Sounding like Trump ;)

I get that & to an extent there always will be but I think it’s highly disingenuous to make an assumption that these Gen Z banter chimps don’t know what they are doing.

You lose faith in the sport section, then you can’t trust the news & politics then it makes it pointless.

I have worked in both the Civil Service and at the Council, similar to a few others on here. TBH there's a highly unoriginal clown like you everywhere you go, having a pop without really having a clue.

What do you for a living that makes you feel so superior?

Anyone heard the Ian Cheeseman podcast from Monday with Barry Silkman ? I had to turn off with 20 mins to go. The most pessimistic podcast I’ve listened to. Barry Silkman come across as a typical ex footballer from yesteryear with his old fashion views . We all know we’ve been terrible this season and Pep needs to take some blame but the lack of respect was unreal , totally dismissing what Pep has achieved , he also said we had no defenders who can defend and doesn’t rate Dias as a defender . He said we've been missing Kyle Walker this season not realising he’s been playing and been very poor this season .
