The 80s were great Phil, thousands of miles travelling to celebrate yet another shit performance. We only went because our mates did. It was something to do on a Saturday. :-)

I actually yearn for the 1960s. 62/3 to 65/6 was my all-time favourite period, when we went from dire to 2nd Division Champions, followed by 67/8 to 69/70... football of the gods.

Proper football. Not this namby pamby nonsense that they play on carpets nowadays.
1964/65 Norwich (H) was my first "live" game at City and as a 13/14 year old and travelling with our neighbour in his car with, his girlfriend,Mum and Gran, a certain Mr Glyn Pardoe who in those days was Citys centre forward, it was unreal.
Glyn took me into the City dressing room on one occasion and just standing there with my namesake and Glyns cousin Alan Oakes, Mike Doyle, George Heslop,Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee, I was dumb struck and in awe.
As you say Lavinda great days and our Maine Road pitch was nothing more than a mud heap at times and not a carpet as you say.
Wonderful memories only to be eclipsed with my hitch hiking adventures to Vienna and travelling down from the Players Hotel to their training pitch on the team bus with all the players with Sir Joe and Big Malc shaking our hands.

Correct, speaking of the bbc, I saw a piece regarding the haka done by the all blacks, showed it in full with England team facing up at the half way line, brilliant stuff but...the wankers/twats at twickers sang 'sweet chariot' loudly all through the haka, imagine if that was football fans, the media would have gone ballistic, nothing said! this morning breakfast tv showed exactly the same piece but with the crowd singing cut out, to quote homerdog Fucking bbc wankers.
The haka needs binning off for away games. Special rules for certain teams is nonsense. If they don’t bin it then teams should be allowed to do whatever they want when it’s happening (within reason). I’d encourage supporters to sing as loud as they could or turn their backs.

When Spurs lose against Palace and Brighton it doesn’t even create a ripple, City lose one in 33 games and the media know nowts already writing us off.
They had a long time to wait. They will put the boot in until we start winning again. They absolutely hate us.

What's wrong with singing 'sweet chariot' over the haka ?
I'm not into rugby but it's aways baffled me the opponents just stand and watch. Would the All Blacks watch us as we do abit of Maurice Dancing ?
I think that a rugby crowd (especially for an International match) usually shows the utmost respect for the opposing team's national anthem.
The Haka is a cultural offer from the All Blacks or Island countries (e.g. Samoa,) to engage in combat.
It is an usual precursor to a match, so why not enjoy it and admire it's individuality ?
Cannot imagine many of the English front row wanting to Morris Dance though ?

I thought it was about playing rugby not going into combat

I honestly love it Balo.
City losing these days is huge news and it’s just proof we are in their vacuous heads 24/7.
Apparently yesterday was proof that Pep wants out before we get relegated.
We are hated, not because we are City but we are successful.
