The loss at spurs (or any other team) was almost inevitable given the way we were playing at the start of the season.
From the season start, the team looked sluggish, tired, short passes, disjointed. We still won games and were top/4 but the games were hard to watch , as the free flowing complete superiority and ‘even if they score, we’ll get a load more’ feelings of the past 7 years slowly ebbed away.

The early season injuries didn’t help. Gundo not replicating his player of the season at Barca didn’t either, ditto foden…and then the repeating injuries to the defence iced the cake on the increasing fragile mentality.
All great but doesn’t change the fact that the headline was referencing the fact that our record bad run started at Spurs and our win there potentially exercised some demons.

Not sure why anyone’s getting their knickers in a twist over it.

In relation to lasts nights non handball, handball fiasco.
Just watched MOTD and less than 2 seconds after the ball hits the net you can clearly hear the refs whistle and from that point on the commentator says numerous times that the ref has disallowed it.
Yet on Sky I didn't hear the whistle and it was only sometime after Spurs took the free kick there was any mention that the on field decision was no goal. How did they miss that fact for so long?

A point that is overlooked by anybody who tried to analyse the APT case before, during or after: City have probably had the shareholder loan issue in their back pocket since 2021 waiting to use it if the PL went too far. I'm no lawyer but that issue seems to have been pretty much a slam-dunk, insofar as anything can be legally. The PL can't say City didn't give them enough warnings .....
That's the feeling I get, reading between the lines and from what our owners have said in the past. I hope there are more loopholes or flagrant breaches of law in those PL financial rules that we can use for leverage (or just plain revenge)

I'd like to know when Khusanov is going to get the fair coverage he deserves. We are no longer top dog this year, so there is no reason to continue the hatred-of-our-club articles they produce but from what I'v seen the media highlighted this guys failure in the very first half of football he had played in this country. They continued highlighting that failure into the following weeks game. And in general only talk about him in those terms.

At no point have they reported what we are seeing, a brilliant, confident, hard working old head young shoulders player that we have. It feels like when Rodri was running things, was the lynchpin, they didnt actually give him the credit (Until he got injured) he deserved.

Wel;l, their ignorance is out benefit because they dont actually know what makes our team tick.

I've just read an article by the sun on the redevelopment of the stadium the journalist started by blowing smoke up are arses and then never stopped not one mention of you know what i only usually read articles that are put on the forum this isn't normal is it ?

I keep on getting notifications from Sky News about "Latest from Man Citys charges - join us live" and thinking theres been an announcement!

Basically Sky have held a live show with some "football finance experts" who will give them quotes and soundbites that they can use to write negative headings and stories about us for the next few weeks.

He got turned a few times by Vinicius early in the game in Madrid and nothing was going to tear Phil McNulty away from a narrative. No mention that Vinicius switched wings when he realised he couldn't kick the ball past Khusanov and beat him for pace.
