It's become too sanitized and regulated now.
12k decide to fuck a family Christmas off, they are going to Stoke..... in fancy dress...... with a 10 foot inflatable.
No one organised it. OK supporters clubs organised individual coaches, 50 people max but for 12k people to travel to an away match is insane.
Like a morgue now compared to then.
Dont get me wrong, times are different obviously but stuff like that made me as a fan.
The football special was one of my best memories..

We took a load of cans to drink on the coach on the way to Stoke. Helen (of the bell) made us get off and down as many as we could before it left Maine Road. I was 17 years old.

That boxing day game at Stoke was a bit special.
We had a van full of fully dressed Gorillas, including the driver, with
Inflatable bananas hanging out the windows.
The looks we got from non City fans on the M6 will live long in the memory.
Happy days.
One of my top favourite aways, fucking mad in the stands, with zero room due to a banana infestation & fancy dress.

Loved the blues on the pitch running with nanas too.

Shove your red shirt local history up your fucking arse.

City, City, City!!!!!

That was cold that day. Coldest I have ever been at a football game.
It was fucking chilly, I lived in Oldham the time and even for there it was a nasty day.

Always was there be it the Perry Groves (edit maybe not his real name) testimonial (if you were there you were there), the game where it pissed it down, the one good game Megson had, the taking over of the town and ground at the 2-2 etc

Always been our bitches.

Yes all conveniently forgotten by the worldwide online fanbases of our rivals most of who'm have never set foot in England never mind the stadium of the club they are supposed to support.

Our fanbase back then was bloody magnificent. Eccentric, loud, loyal and defiant, some would say bloody mad and I wouldn't disagree. Often mediocre on the pitch we were world champions on the terraces. Never forget that.
How the tables have turned although our away support is still top notch.

The closes we get to in nowadays is away matches.

Grab tin hat but I prefer away matches to the Etihad if I can get tickets

We (me & Mrs Moon) were threatened with ejection at one game, think it was Leeds, always got in early as I had her with me to duck any bother, when we were blowing up our bananas.

Come kick off the plod who gave us grief was shaking his head as 4k of us were going for it.
