tbh even in the second half of the season he hasnt been that effective, he was none existent in both legs of the psg game, didnt show up against the geordies and did rock all against fulham and everton
Hopefully this and with the added bonus the £2.59 a week wages he'll stink the place out with no resale value.

This all I can see…

When Mohamed Salah signed his previous deal at Liverpool it is understood it made him the club's highest paid player ever with a salary worth more than £350,000-a-week.

A players pay on contract renewal is what they can deliver during that contract period. Not what they have delivered in the past. If he is on the same or possibly more then that is bonkers. They might have panicked off the back on Trent going and wanted to turn the tide. Not sure, all I know is his form has already dropped off. He is 33 this year and a drop off is inevitable. We didn't start our rebuild when it was needed with ageing players. I think it is good for us that they aren't recognising it either.

Age waits for no one, Liverpool will be having a bit of what City have had this season, shortly.

Yep, just put SSN on and caught that. They were spinning it as the scouse gettting their way and it had to suit the club. No mention of why a player who could go anywhere even though he's 33 shortly, would allow his contract to run down to the last 2 or 3 months. Salah got exactly what he was asking for all along.
I'm surprised any dipper player signs a contract, aren't they all there for the love of the club?

I reckon due to the wages the 3 of them were after, Liverpool could only afford to cover the wages for 2 of them. They probably wanted Trent to stay most of all because of his age and value, but once he was going that's freed up his wages to pass onto the other 2.

Like someone else said, they'll probably sell Salah 1 year into his two year deal.

Yeah maybe, and didn't want to take the negativity of anybody else going on a free. I just don't think them staying is a positive, I always thought it was a lose lose really. They leave and it will take top money to replace them, or they stay and it might be a year too far considering their age. We shall see

At least It means they won't sign MBeumo and he'll be picked up by someone else. Wish it was us.

Obviously wants to break the most Penalties scored by a single player in the Premier League record.

Same old, same old. Mane, Firmino and Salah have already played this trick on them.

"This can, in part, be put down to Manchester City - as the most successful Premier League side of recent years until this season, their pass-heavy style under Pep Guardiola has influenced the division."

When we win the premier league every year it's boring because we win.

When we don't win the league we're blamed for making the premier league boring anyway.

(Now, i'll admit i think we're boring this year, but these BBC fuckers can fuck right off!)

You have totally cherry picked that article to suit your narrative, it quickly switches from Neville's boring claim and presents an alternative view from Chris Sutton:-
"What's the difference between coaching and micro-management?" Sutton asked. "When Man City were on top of the game they had a style of play and a freedom. Everybody has a role to play, but Guardiola will not put anyone in a straitjacket."

"The other thing is that Gary Neville as a player won eight Premier League titles," said Sutton. "Would he have said it was boring when his Manchester United side were 10 points clear with a couple of months of the season to go? Because Manchester is miserable, we all have to be miserable?

"It is absolute nonsense, almost like a kind of footballing snobbery of the big boys where it is not good to see Forest, Brighton, Fulham or Brentford doing well. Why is something wrong if those clubs are doing OK?

"So, it seems we all have to sulk and be miserable and see this season as boring, because the big boys are not doing what we have become used to down the years. Just because they are not having things their own way does not make it a terrible season."

Well obviously i did that. I thought that was how the media works. But i ask, why mention city at all in an article about boring when we've played nothing but fabulous football until March 2024 til now? Oh wait it's been going on for years:
