There was a clear distinction here, because rather than some ad hoc unwarranted comment about his players or the club, Ferguson refused to speak to the BBC because of a documentary into his questionable dealings and the association of his family with them.
So rather than issue proceedings against the BBC because what they said was untrue, he refused to engage with them. The only logical conclusion to draw from this approach, given how well resourced his was ( and is, obviously) is that what the BBC said was broadly true.
The stuff the **** got away with when he was in his pump is an outrage, and the fact that this played a direct role in the current state of the club is conspicuously ignored by the media is an absolute fucking disgrace.
It’s obvious to anyone with a scintilla of street-smart that he was at it for years. The 99 questions did not appear in a vacuum.

Was looking forward to Fighting Talk on 5 Live today. Expecting a full on rags piss take from the finalists on the last episode. A rag and a Spud in it.

If we went down the Forest route of banning people for writing/saying shit about us in the media then we'd end up with an empty press box pretty soon. Maybe Ferran could then turn it into another VIP area and charge the Earth to get in.

I always think the abiding image of Nevilles life is him walking off the Maine Rd pitch after the last Derby played there. Head bowed tears in his eyes as the North Stand roared " Gary Neville is a blue he hates M****h. Can't understand his misery, thought it was scousers he hated. Bet he can never lose that memory.
