Remember as a nice day of weather for the Brighton cup tie, travelled down over night and playing foot ball on the beach early morning prior to going on the piss. That day I realised John Bond era another false dawn, it came to screeching halt soon after. Don't think many of us look back on him with any affection, in spite of the cup run and Trevor Francis signing. After this it was 18 years of misery save for the Charlton and Bradford promotion party's. Kendal and McNeill other false dawns took Joe Royle to give us back our pride and self belief.
