Who says beauty isn't

any of you heard of a lad called Buvey? He’s apparently a city fan, he’s on shows like Overlap, The Club, Sky socials, representing us, but says shit like Gary Neville is better than Walker, Gerrard deserves to be in a PL all time XI ahead of KDB, Rooney is better than Aguero etc.. Theres something dodgy as fuck about that lad.
Don’t mind him. He obviously does shows with mix of other fans so can’t go full cult like the red scousers. Don’t mind that at all

Silkman is one of my most disliked players ever to pull on the hallowed shirt. In March 1979, when I was just coming up to ten years old, we sold Brian Kidd and brought in Silkman. Kidd had been a great striker for us and was one of my favourites, so I was gutted to see him go. As his replacement, in effect, Silkman was already facing an uphill battle to win my affections, and he never succeeded. Quite the opposite.

Obviously, I didn't do away games back then, so the wonder goal at Ipswich passed me by and I didn't even have that one bright spot to remember him by. He just seemed generally dreadful, but it wasn't only that. Despite playing, at least when he first arrived, in a team full of stars, he seemed to regard himself as the main attraction, a seventies maverick and crowd-pleaser in the mould of Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles and others who could showboat while the rest of the team put in the effort around them.

But Marsh, Bowles and the several other iconic flair players in the First Division in the seventies could pull that off (though I know Rodney divided opinions among City fans). Of course, Silkman wasn't fit to lace their boots. He simply wasn't up to scratch in a top-flight outfit it was the sheer lack of self-awareness that got to me. But it also made me doubt the recently returned Malcolm Allison.

I was just too young to remember Big Mal from his first spell at the club and wondered what other damage he might go on and do if he really thought Silkman a player deserving of a spot in a team with Corrigan, Donachie, Watson, Hartford, Owen, Barnes and the rest. Regrettably, I was right. Malcolm did rather a lot of damage.
His CV, when viewed through the prism of Kiddo’s, is wank.

Just listened to BBC Noise and they are waxing lyrical about the performances of Orient and Argyle. “What strike” sez one apparatchik. “What a goal, even though it went down as an own goal!” It was an own goal yer fuckin eejit! Had it not hit Ortega it would have stayed out. The strike by Donely didn’t cross the line, and not even the Lino 30 yards behind could have stood in for a VAR job! The magic of the FACup? More like the fiction of the cup!

And Argyle played Dipper reserves. And rode their luck for the best part of 90mins!

Oh, how those rats from the media morph into Enid Blyton at the drop of an oggy and the Dipper kids getting turfed out!

To be honest I don't need someone telling me what I saw ;)
I watch the game I don't need some has been ex drug cheat telling me his views. I couldn't give a shit about their views.

The simple fact is City are in the next round dippers aren't.

The coverage of the Plymouth result and the language used by the bbc is totally different to the coverage we get. If we got beat by a team that had won one game in 3 months, after making a few changes to the line up, the tone would have been that we disrespected the cup and that we should be ashamed, where as the dippers get “Slot has made a mistake but it’s understandable due to other priorities”. I wish I could elect to not pay part of the license fee - the football part - as that department is not fit for purpose

It is legal to to opt out of the licence fee.

The telephone no. is on the back of the licence and takes 3 minutes.

Tell them you're moving abroad.

There are no detection teams.

It's very liberating.

Yeah they started going on about Liverpool having more important games upcoming than yesterday ...............now as a broadcaster should you really not be having a real pop at the lack of respect seeing as its your only LIVE games ?????

Are they indeed not sending a message out that the FA cup is far lass important than the league or is that narrative only aimed at certain clubs ????

I've posted this I think in this thread a month/6 weeks ago.

My father-in-law passed at home overnight Xmas Eve 2023, found by me on Xmas day.

The house is about to finally be sold, we're signing our contract for it today for it to progress, it's been empty since then and gutted of everything since around February last year.

Mrs Moon has informed the BBC 3/4 times that he's passed & the house is empty.

Part of the household insurance policy means we have to call round every 7 days.

We get at least one letter a month saying 'they're coming round/have been round and threatening prosecution '.

The phrase not fit for purpose comes to mind.
