Karma is such a wonderful thing. The Sun has been hostile to football fans right back since the days since they demanded fences should be built in grounds, ID cards, the Hillsborough lies, the racist coverage of City's owners, the relentless hounding of players' families, and their slavish support of MUFC. Sorry, but have to disagree with you here. The Local Government Act 1972 was a brilliant piece of legislation which consolidated a large number of boroughs that were too small to be effective. And it’s over 50 years old which suggests it’s stood the test of time.
