Pep Guardiola's attempt at parking the bus in London to help Manchester City pinch three vital points almost paid off.

Almost.

But Gabriel Martinelli's 93rd-minute equaliser salvaged a 1-1 draw for hosts Arsenal, although neither side will be left satisfied as their Premier League title aspirations were dealt a blow.

F**cking Hell I know they hate us but the massive pile on about have you ever seen a City side like this before is ridiculous. Yes I f**king well have, years and years of it infact. Sick of watching teams turn up against us and put in similar performance and get nothing but total praise from all of the so called football experts. So proud of City's performance today, expected to get beat but we battled and showed another side to us that a lot of us may have questioned did we have in our character.
I was at the game and agree. We did what 95 % of teams do to us and we get slated whatever we do . To watch City put in a pragmatic solid defence and counter performance was fabulous . We nullified their not so secret set piece weapon every time with Donnaramma so dominant and , even when they bought on their elite attacking force for the second half , we held firm . Would have loved three points but that performance is the sort of thing that forges a team spirit and those players left everything on the pitch ..

Notice they ignore the previous meetings between the two sides.

I applaud Pep for changing his tactics - something the clown at the rags should consider when you are chasing results. "Even the Pope will not make me change" is the rags' boss's latest rant.

As i said in the post match thread yesterday for YEARS we have seen the press laud other teams for coming and parking the bus against us and nicking one on the break as a masterclass and the best way to play against city etc etc and now we are getting slated for doing the same, the press can get to fuck the two faced double standard having cunts.

Agree . When we beat them 4.1 at the Ethiad a couple of seasons back we played 4 4 2 with KDB and Haarland up front and the equivalent of a well tuned Rolls Royce engine cruising past their aggressive press time after time. ATM we don't have a well tuned engine, just a few good components that need to be turned into one .

Teams are built through suffering and fighting . The most important component is fire in the belly . This result will have done more for us than any number of home wins against park the bus tactics . All managers know this and Peps tactics yesterday were a lesson in astute pragmatism . I watch both the men and the women and it's exciting to see both our teams coming out of last seasons hibernation with potential and passion .

I was on 606 again last night (they called me to be on). If you can be arsed listening, go to 12 minutes
Gutted.
I thought it was just me who got a call off them. They rang me after the Wolves game but I politely declined and said call back after 10 games.
I don't feel special anymore :)

Edit.

Good call mate, spoke well and was honest about our situation, Sutton tries so hard to be a wum but you had him on toast.

It is beyond ridiculous to see how so many are running with the angle of Arsenal coming out of a home game, against a team they beat 5-1 at home last season, with a draw as a good result.

Don't fall for it blues! Remember those clear cut chances arsenal had yesterday? Yeah, me neither. All that happened from an arsenal point of view is they showed yet again that they don't have what it takes to win the league this year. Do they think no other team is going to try to do that to them this season?

Yet whilst plucky Leeds or Sunderland will be praised for such a display, even if they were to concede a last minute losing goal let alone grab a draw at the Emirates, City should know better and try to play football.

Just shows a lack of journalistic knowledge of where city are and our circumstances - the injuries, the rebuild, the new style - or more likely shows them taking an unavoidable opportunity to put the boot in.

Sky and the media need a title race to sell their product. It was boring when we ran away with it but it was the best ever when we went toe to toe with Liverpool. Now we are in a transition period and not a genuine title contender just yet, the media need somebody else to challenge and make it exciting. What they really mean is its only really exciting for the neutrals around the globe so they can sell the product and bang on about the Premier League being the greatest. So a boring boring backs to the wall performance to take a two points off the heirs to the throne damages their product and if Arsenal continue to drop points then the league will be done by Christmas and what a boring spectacle that will be to sell.

I remember Arsenal being famous for one nil wins, boring drab one nil wins at that. It would have been very ironic to have got that result yesterday and listen to Sky tell us we was boring. On one hand they're discussing at length how Amorim needs to change his system and highlighting with their stop/start cameras and line drawings how it should be developed to get better results but in our case woe betide the blues and Pep for not going all gung ho with a tired and depleted squad. How dare we get a result and think about ourselves and not the general publics Sunday afternoon viewing.

My headline from yesterday if you wanted a pop at Pep would have been how many CL trophies would we have won if he’d adopted these tactics away from home against Madrid PSG et Al
