I’m literally just a few mins into the Guardian Football pod, & Barney (despondent Arsenal fan) is knee deep in the Nation state project, banging on about City’s squad & management being the best money can buy, & breaking financial rules, talk about bitter.
Just been listening to that - unbelievable little diatribe. Apparently we might “get away with” the 115 charges. What a twat.

In that case don’t bother with the Times podcast either then. Leading with, and all about arsenal, and how it was “a great way to lose” and bigging up the positivity about them.

I’d only like a bit of even-handedness, but with a journalist line up of their arsenal and Chelsea correspondents, maybe I was expecting too much.

I love podcasts and listen to almost all of football ones including atletic Guardian or totally football show. I have always loved the bias that comes into play whenever City name is occured where a red team win is celebrated with euphoria and city wins are often celebrated with the subtle "that why you pay big bucks to KDB or Haaland" .

Recently I started consuming the same podcasts in video format on youtube and started putting a face to those writers who write snide articles about city in telegraph or guardian or such. Almost all of them are above 50 and it shows in their faces that in all their life they only saw Liverpool Arsenal and United win and ofcourse almost all of them directly and indirectly have a soft spot for the red clubs. Some of them are self declared fans of these 3 clubs and the rest of them can be easily made out by the way theyspeak about the red cunts. Phrases like " Look at the size of the club"or "Look at their history and tradition" or even some straight forward nonsense like "Ofcourse all eyes are on United since it is the biggest club in the world! I mean hello Bayern Madrid and Barcelona.

So I made peace with the fact that until the new generation of fans/journalist take over the media in the next decade who have seen City' success or so we will be treated unfairly in the media.
In today's podcast with Guardian within 2 mins of podcast starting - Barney Ronay was asked how good was city. The answer was well one team has Haaland on 600k a week and one had Gykores so ofcourse city will win since it is a financial game.
I chuckled loudly ,closed youtube and moved over to netflix for some sanity.

Haha . I just wrote an whole ass rant for the same just as you were posting about this :D . I am amazed how can they even pretend to be neutral. I would rather prefer Jamie Carraghar or Neville who don't hide their biases. Makes it easy to digest!

Good point . I would also add that there is a blinkered London bias. That city is swamped by fans of teams who play in red, only one of which is a London club . What brings them together is a hatred of City so they sing the same tune over and over .

Exactly - needs to have a bit of tact about it to lend itself to the humourous for me.

There are plenty ways of informing the rich and famous you believe them to be a complete bell end without directly saying so repeatedly IMHO........
He’s had way worse said to his face, by multiple people at the Etihad. Not saying it’s right but if you want to put it on people, be prepared to get it back.

What is this “ Let’s all feel sorry for Gary vibe !” That has polluted this thread….. Give your head a wobble. The man wouldn’t piss on you lot if you were on fire! Yes filming your self doing it is gimp behaviour. But calling him a wanker on the street is fair game fuck his feelings . This world is not a perfect polite place. If you have a problem with someone you have it out with them and yes you’re aloud to do it even if the person is from off the telly. Sweet fucking Jayzusss the world’s gone soft.

Has any football pundit had even a half decent managerial career? I can think of plenty who have failed - Neville, Shearer, Merson, Rooney etc and many who haven't the intelligence to even try yet they are apparently qualified to offer expert advice.
Jamie O’hara and Jay Boothroyd didn’t even half decent playing careers.
