United "glamorous", indeed...
That was a rookie error from Smith.
If he wanted to spout clichéd bollocks, the old standards of an Italian wanting to join United "for the romance" were right there, waiting to be combined.

Credit where it's due...

How City's 'Council House Kids' knocked United off their Perch

- the headline from a (surprisingly fair) two page article in the Daily Mail today by.... (astonishingly) Ian Ladyman. Must be Opposotes Day or something.

Sorry I can't provide a link.
These days, I get my papers (for free) on the app provided by my local library which doesn't allow sharing.

PS: joining your local library isn't only highly recommended for all sorts of reasons btw, but the way politicians like to close down libraries, you should consoder it your civic duty yo register as a user.
Lots of made up bullshit to enhance his story quotes from "City executive" and "Etihad source", driving past to swamp to see what we are aiming at, executive car going to wrong Wembley entrance, players taking pictures Yeah sure Of course Maguire rent a quote is in there Rebecca Lowe forgot to mention that City are the most watched club in USA so how are the rags "some way out in front of City" No mention of social media where City are gaining on the rags from second place and on some of the newer platforms in front with number of followers

"However, the start of their five-year front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with Snapdragon enabled them to post record commercial revenue of £333.3m, while matchday revenue was also a record at £160.3m in the year to 30 June 2025"

25 / 26 is going to be challenging as they wont have a new front-of-shirt deal to boost revenue and the match day revenue will be somewhat reduced due to no UEFA, or EFL cup matches if they get knocked out of FAC early there'll be a even greater drop off On top of that some of their sponsorship deals contact clauses that reduce due to 2 years with out UCL I guess they may have reduced the player wage bill somewhat and if Amorim stays they wont have a big pay off for team management

Challenging times for our quite neighbours

This season -:

No Europe
No Carabo
Reduced sponsorships
Losses on most transfers
Rash Ford return
Sancho return

Apart from 300 redundancies & cost cutting there will be very few black lines in the current FY accounts.

They've not reached the bottom yet !!
They have also signed players at a cost of 235k with not a lot coming in return for those sold.

I dont understand this snapdragon shirt sponsorship, is it a chain of Chinese takeaways? I never heard of them or seen any of the products snapdragon make.
Seems odd to fork out all that money and yet most people haven't a clue what or who snapdragon are.
They make silicon chips.

Which disappointed Shaw when he heard they were getting a chip sponsor.

Mainly makers of GPU's for mobile phones (ARM)... if you have ever had a mobile phone that is capable of playing games you have used a Snapdragon product which is under the umbrella of Qualcomm.

That being said how do this useless outfit keep getting these big deals?
