Media discussion - 2025/26

It was started in the seventh minute and repeated relentlessly the whole match. It was clearly an editorial decision to be negative about City. At one point Hoddle said: “Monaco must find a way back into the game” The female presenter actually said: “It’s just as well Haaland didn’t have more touches because he might have scored more.” No other English team is covered like this.
Right from the start, Hoddle sounded deeply, deeply disinterested.
On the other hand, Mike Minay had a great time keeping tabs on Gvardiol's collar.

What gets me is they are still obsessed with the number of touches haaland has in a game,it’s staggering it’s as if oh look he’s scored 4 goals but only had 12 touches or whatever, does it fucking matter if he’s scoring that’s his job.what else do they want him to do,make goal line clearances, taking corners then running in to try and get on the end of them ..like last night I couldn’t give a fuck how many touches he has if he’s banging in the goals and we are winning what’s the problem ( yes we drew last night) but you get my gist..

BBC now doing a ‘have City got a problem conceding late goals’ column. Might be worth asking if there was any hint of professionalism or research.
Says the goals conceded at 89 minutes or later have cost us 3 points and those 3 points would have us second, level with Arsenal.
Of course, as one of the goals was against Arsenal, which is mentioned in the article, we’d be second and 1 point above them as they wouldn’t have got that point.

Bias I can cope with but shoddy, ill thought out and poorly researched there is no excuse for. The BBC is becoming more like Facebook every day…

One of the other examples they give is against Spurs - a goal before half time YCMIU.

Clubcall in the 80's was more believable than the BiBiC

Loved Erling’s surly, dismissive attitude to that idiot reporter who interviewed him after the game on Wednesday. He looked like he wanted to eat her.

and today the Daily Star have followed it up with Haaland losing faith with the club's present predicament, whatever that is.

I didnt even listen to the studio but Hoddle wtf sounded like an OAP obsessed with pigeons or something. Just talked shite about how many touches Haaland has, interspersed with his knowledge of 1990's football tactics.
Hoddle is like the bloke sat on his own at the pub, talking to himself while watching the game.
