It's pure click bait and the rags and us are the most commonly covered as we have let go of some great talent , as we have a wealth of talent to draw on or need younger legs , while them down the road ......have I missed the piece about Luis Diaz knocking them in for Bayern ... apparently not but here's something they published earlier ....

Their coverage is ridiculous. Football is the national sport and the national broadcaster is a pure clickbait operation.

The Pathetic (Athletic) recently wrote an article about how the "007" football stat (0G 0A 7games) is not funny anymore because the latest recipient of mirth was aimed at Flopian Werner. Even Plopp had his two penn'orth citing Wurst as one of the greatest footballing talents this century.

Prior to the Premier League, the biggest game on English TV was the FA Cup Final. In the early 90s, Sky didn't have that match so they made a calculated to give this game the week of anticipatory fluff, the morning of a hyped up build up. Masterchief final levels of superlatives in the commentary etc... Make no mistake, if they could embed a reporter in the team buses and interview "personalities" before every game between these two, they would.
To be fair to Sky, it's worked. An entire generation now believe their bullshit.

Something similar was done with the Heineken Cup in Rugby Union. Adverts in the telly when it was still a new competition referred to ghosts in the stadium l, giving it an aura of history that it had no right to.

It's shite but, sadly, it's the way of the world.
