Media discussion - 2025/26

There was an Andy Dunn article in the Daily Mirror yesterday, about Jack not being able to play.
Although it did say that the Premier League were denying the current most exciting player in the PL, to play, it read as a hatchet job on City being the bad guys.
Oh, Andy Dunn supports Everton...
Imagine this game is the last game of the season and a win for City means the title, or even just a CL place, either at the expense of the rags or dippy boys.
City winning 1-0, Everton get a penalty in the last minute and Jack hammers it over the bar. I would think the very same media companies would be very supportive of the lad…

The rules havent changed, the faux outrage is ridiculous and current most exciting player in the prem? do me a favour there is three just in citys team who are currently more exciting.

Anything but an arse-licking question, was "rewarded" with a press-ban for the reporter.
I really hope the media have the bottle to fully expose his bullying behaviour, when he croaks it.
Perhaps a few referees might also find a pair of bollocks and share some stories ?
If they did come out about his behaviour and other stuff, they’d just have a good giggle over it and laugh it all off as typical baconface..

I know. Dunn is a thick Scouse. What a surprise that is...

Yes, but "Jack the Lad" is now the media's darling again.
He has been unshackled by Dynamic Davie Moyes, playing attacking fun-filled-football.
Bet, he now doesn't get booked by opposition fans either...

I remember discussing this article with family and friends before the game against Brentford, just before most of the squad went off for the World Cup (they all seemed to be thinking about the World Cup that day, not the task at hand, so we lost 1-2.. to be fair, they made up for it with the Treble a few months later!)

When discussing Liew's yawnfest of an article, everyone was of the same opinion.. as in 'quel wanquer'..

Further, I remember making the observation to our group that the media was full of herberts who, because of their tribalism, would never appreciate players like Silva, Yaya, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Aguero, Kompany, Bernardo, Haaland and so on and so on.. and that if you dropped the said herberts in Salzburg at the time of (some of) Mozart's finest moments, they'd still be a bunch of moaning, negative f**kers disregarding his musical genius.. even when it's glaringly in front of them they'd still not recognise it..

I am getting fed up at the moment with claims in the media that the Liverpool v Man Utd game is the biggest game of the season, between the two biggest clubs in English football. If it is so, then it is marginal. A lot of people who watch Man Utd games, and read their articles, are in my opinion City and Liverpool fans who enjoy watching them struggle.

I looked at Youtube subscriber numbers to get an idea of club popularity. This does suggest that Liverpool and Man Utd still are the best supported clubs but it's by no means as one-sided as the media coverage suggests.

Media led narrative of it being the biggest game how many times have they went toe to toe for the title about 3-4 times over their history making it out like it’s a proper rivalry all made up bollocks to get the masses giddy..
