To engage is to legitimise.

Roney and Liew forged their worldview in the hot house of student union politics and then it ossified.

Roney is howling at the Blue Moon and he knows it, his petulance is a testimony to it.
I think Ronay’s latest article is defamatory. The allegations made against Sheikh Mansour are very damaging and unproven. The Guardian would collapse under any action because they can’t prove their claims are true. It would be an easy win for City’s lawyers. It would not legitimise Ronay if the Guardian had to pay damages and costs. In fact it could kill his career.

The central premise of the article is that Sheikh Mansour can’t have his own personal wealth and is incapable of independent thought. Those Arabs are all the same don’t you know. He fails to mention that 25 per cent of our club is US owned.
It's Barmy Droneaway so the central premise of the article is undoubtedly a load of word-salad, xenophobic shite.

If you don't like an article why post it on here so it gets more views and makes them more money, ensuring they do more of the same?

The gutter press readers deserve what they get, best just to ignore.

Informing people that there is dogshit on the pavement so they can avoid it is different than promoting it mate.

Here's the headline, why don't we take these cunts to court slebs take each other to court every day for saying trivial naughty things.

Silence over Sudan: why do Manchester City’s owners get away with so much?

Two midweek matches in England had a backdrop of war and geopolitics, but only one drew large protests

How would you feel if the owner of the football club you support was implicated, even as those implications are repeatedly denied, in famine, ethnic cleansing and the deaths of 1,500 men, women and children?

Only one thing to take from this article and that is we're in the clear with the 115 and this is the stick we'll get beat with from now on.

The football media are shite and their only purpose is to garner clicks, as in that we don’t play to Haaland’s strengths, now we are too reliant.

As per the Sunday Supplement, used to be a good watch when it first came out because they had the integrity of the old guard. Later turned into click-bait wankers spouting the shit they did in their papers, so it died on its arse.

Fuck ‘em, fuck ‘em all!
Yep, thats the long and the short and the tall of it..!!

The Guardian is nothing to Sheikh Mansour and Ronay is less than nothing. Besides the article is nowt but a grubby white flag of surrender, Ronay admits defeat in the first paragraph. It has no traction and he knows it, if the club were to engage with it and win, it would deify Ronay in left wing circles, it would boost his career not destroy it.

I particularly like his accusation that the British Empire was the first sportswasher....

And yes, we know this works because the original sportswasher was the British empire in a time you’d hope not to repeat, firing up the colonial control system around its codified Victorian games.

This sent me off looking for old YouTube videos of Queen Victoria (Captain), W. G. Grace and "Fatty" Foulke on A Question of Sport.

What a team they were!

There is a hard core group of activists who are trying to politicise football because it is a convenient vehicle to promote their causes. Some of them hate football. Some of them, like Ronay, have adopted football as a way of promoting their career and lifestyle. Ronay, who went to Dulwich School and Oxford University, ludicrously claims to be a Milwall fan. It is just a cloak of convenience.
Isn't Barney a Docker's son then ?

Ah, but a court case could also break the Guardian newspaper ?
Think of how they would position this ?
The "Manchester Guardian" ruined by a Manchester club ?
Also, they would undoubtedly play the little underdog who has been victimised.
City are in a difficult position here and Ronay knows it...

Totally agree, if the ownership and club find it offensive let them take it on, why give it more oxygen to breathe.

Yep! According to the Guardian the only good Arabs are those cuddly Palestinian ones!
