Media discussion - 2025/26

I'd just like to say I think its sad, maybe a bit sinister even that the incredible build up for City's first goal has been buried away. It's an absolute classic.
How they work it out from the corner is quite mesmerising then the whole team have a touch, magnificent stuff.
Criminal it's been overlooked but we can't have City running rings round them now can we.

I just seen headlines that Pep is leaving at the end of the season……. Obviously they are taking Sundays result badly.
Yeah it's just the usual media negativity after a result that was both positive for us but bad for a red shirt.

The classic "look over there" approach because that plays to the red lemmings who read such drivel.

Any journalist worth their salt would be doing a deep dive into how Liverpool have lost 5 league games already, despite spending half a billion to strengthen a title-winning team.

Possibly more hope than expectations as the red cunts in the media don't want Pep breaking anymore records making their clubs irrelevant.

We need to compile a full list of the shit decisions we've had against Liverpool and get someone like Mike Keegan or Simon Bajkowski to give it some traction.

Off the top of my head:
  • Alf Grey disallowing Kevin Reeves' goal for no discernible reason.
  • The handball penalty awarded against Micah Richard's in the League Cup semi-final when it bounced up off his knee.
  • The two penalties not given in the 2014 game at Anfield, one for a foul on Dzeko and the Skrtel handball that wasn't spotted.
  • The three offside decisions in the first leg of the CL quarter final.
  • The disallowed goal in the second leg when offside was given but Milner clearly played the ball last.
  • The failure to issue a second yellow to
    • Salah, who was penalised for simulation when already on a yellow
    • Milner, who was on a yellow and committed at least one, and probably two, further bookable offences
  • The mysterious malfunction of VAR when Salah scored and was seemingly offside.
  • The Trent handball not given.
  • The disallowed goal for the slightest touch on Alisson.
What else have I missed?
Francis Lee goal in the 1973 cup game at Liverpool that wasn't given. Ended 0-0. We beat them 2-0 in the reply.

2014 game Suarez should have had a 2nd yellow for a blatant dive.

VAR disallowed goal for Foden after being brought back for a Haaland foul in a game where the ref was allowing physicality.

Also the George Courtney performance with 2 pens sticks in my head.
Yes it was Suarez, not Salah. Foden disallowed goal is a good shout so thanks for both. I've updated the list accordingly.

Don't remember the Courtney game.

Not only that. We were still celebrating when the cunts re started the game with a free kick and promptly scored with a move from it - what turned out to be the goal that took them to Wembley.
I too will never forget the Alf Grey decision. That and the non penalty given at the swamp against Frontzeck have haunted blues for years.
But with respect I don't remember the dippers scoring their goal at Maine Rd till the second half?

Its a ploy from Ferguson's play book; create a reason for losing and never admit losing fair and square. Its partly a tactic to keep players confidence from draining, which must be a losing battle with this current Liverpool squad, and create a narrative around being hard done to. Its almost a form of cry bullying. The fact that the media join in and amplify it is par for the course as far as we are concerned.

Just as it was a stain on the Glaswegian despot's integrity/sportmanship, so it is the same with LFC.

Both are displays of poor sportsmanship and integrity, not tactics to put on a pedestal ?

And the media writers are basically cheap whores who are attracted to the biggest pay deals, so integrity is totally alien amongst their ranks.

Despised him for years. It took quite a few years to forget about him. Im finally over it thanks to City for winning loads of trophy's. Same for the 81 cup final.

Think this is his 4th extention.Hes honoured every one in his career and expect he will again dictated by performances.
Now we are hopefully back on track the usual suspect will crawl out from under their rocks !
Predictable and pathetic!

Might be my memory going. I thought I remembered the goal was disallowed and then they came straight up to the platt lane end and scored (Kennedy I think). Could be completely wrong as the mind plays tricks!!

Not only that ,on motd 2 they some how made it look quite an even game , but when they did the analysis at the end they showed 3 chances for City that they never even showed in the highlights package -and they was great chances ,far better than anything the rats came up with!
