Was Slott even in this country when the Wolves match happened? Is he the memory man? It was pushed by the media. A bit like he claimed to have seen our Swansea line-up before his own match while he was preparing his own team. Just lies fed to him by his PR people or someone on the broadcast team. A fabricated story. A bit like splicing two emails together or editing a quote half way through a sentence. This is the state of modern media.
Your posts in this are spot on.. 'the state of modern media' indeed..
This continued farrago of nonsense reminds me of the similar furore cooked up around the infamous Adebayor/Van Persie incident in our 4-2 win over Arsenal in 2009 (when Adebayor also ran the length of the pitch to give some back to the Arsenal fans who'd been taunting him and his family, quite vilely, all afternoon)
Adebayor was correctly found guilty of recklessly injuring Van Persie, being banned for three games and he was given a three game ban (suspended) for his celebrations in front of the Arsenal fans.
But the remarkable (and forgotten?) thing was that within moments of the game finishing, social media accounts in Van Persie's and Arsenal's names swung into action calling for action against Adebayor, with mainstream media picking up on it instantly. Once it started, the media groundswell against Adebayor was unstoppable.
Yet, Van Persie's tweets were done straight after the game at a time when he should have been warming down and getting treatment for the cut to his temple.. surely, the Arsenal wouldn't employ a minion to do this sort of thing?!
And you'd have to be a partial, biased City fan to suggest anything 'untoward' about the media's coverage of the incidents during that game which followed on for weeks.. just as with the game last Sunday..?!
