Media discussion - 2025/26

I read an article about the BBC yesterday that said that groups of staff have a defined line on various subjects and, despite the requirement to remain impartial, woe betide anyone who doesn't follow the party line.

The article specifically referred to trans rights, but said there were also other areas where there was an enforced line set by a group of staff, in defiance of the charter. I think most of us already knew that. Time to rip that rancid organisation apart and start again.

Statue of George Orwell at the BBC, and the quote 'If Liberty means anything at all it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear'

The irony of it.

Lee Hendrie was inserted as co-comms for Villa fans but he did really well post match, rare credit to SKY.
MOTD were in their best City hate mode though. Kelly - nee Dalgliesh - Cates on the verge of tears that the dippers didn't arrange an on pitch guard of honour for little Mo like Bernie & John and their repellent bloated rag pronounced himself 'very sad' to see such a spectacle. The utterly disgusting Shearer was talking asterisks while Ferguson was and will always be the BBC greatest btw - they all agreed Pep just a contender. Cockroaches cackling.
The bloated hypocrite who was brought back into an England squad for a farewell!

The Beeb operate on a clicks basis. It’s as simple as that. 115 gets clicks. If we are cleared I hope the lawyers are on the look out for some loose lips and start suing people like Rooney and shearer

And this is the article I actually read, in The Times. Rob Burley this time: https://archive.ph/CoVy3

Over the last 40 years government has sold off energy, water, communications, health to the private sector yet maintained tv & radio. It’s there as a propaganda tool & does it by making everyone think it’s providing balance, so successfully most think it has a bias for alternative point but it’s subtle, it never deviates far enough from the government agenda despite being critical.

Sly Stone, yes the one who is the beebs chief football reporter. So important a position that he only reports on the big teams. Which basically means the rags. Today he is front and centre blowing the bugle for the class of 92 all for the other team that's not from Manchester trying to big up the competition to get into the third tier of English football. I wonder why

I see the morbidly obese granny shagger criticizing the City players for the guard of honour. Forgive me if I’m wrong, but I actually thought it was the Villa players that initiated it.
