Media discussion - 2025/26

As you’ll have noticed I have already apologised for the comment.
Just for the record myself I’m no spring chicken and will be collecting my free bus pass and pension next year so if that’s living to be old then yes I’m old !
Good for you pal, hope you have a long happy retirement. Hope you don’t mind if I offer some advice. Keep busy, I made the mistake of doing nothing but read & listen to radio for a while, I got fed up. There is a saying “ the less you do the less you want to”. Anyway I joined the local U3A it’s a kind of club for retired people. They have loads of stuff from walking, golf, badminton, walking cricket, cards, languages, best thing I ever did, made new friends so it’s a social thing too. Just saying hope you don’t mind.

Thank you for the advice mate.

I’m already in a transitioning period and have lots of regular activities and exercises already lined up or will be going soon.
There’s always loads of stuff going on at home anyway so I don’t think I’ll be bored but won’t know until I’ll actually do it.

Soon to be followed by throw in of the season, corner of the season and the very prestigious substitute of the season.
Very true! Might I add to your list?:

* Drinks Break of the Season
* Sideline Warm-Up of the Season
* Medical Intervention with the Magic Sponge of the Season

For all of which The Arse will be in pole position to win, closely-run in each category by The Red Filth (..well, clutching at straws it may be but the media HAS to keep them relevant, what?!)

Anyone heard of “transfer of the season” I have just heard this -:

Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been named the Premier League Transfer of the Season, after an impressive first campaign in England.

Flipping heck can’t they do better than that ?
I’ve heard the next award is they have best prawn sandwiches in the PL

I’m sorry if I offended you (and any others) with this post. It was supposed to be a light hearted dig at the way tv ads target the older people during day time tv. It’s obviously back fired. I’ll hold my hands up and appreciate you calling me out on this one.
We’re all a bit serious today :-) :-)

No game to discuss :-)

Don’t forget ‘Cramp Attack’ of the season.

Best rodent infestation of the season

Whoa.
Don't mention Lids as his former, hometown club.
Their fans have bigger chips on their shoulders than the Dippers.
Used to live in 'Ull, which had loads of Leeds fans.
They were all part of the YRA (Yaaaaarkshire Republican Army)...
Surprised to hear that as theirs a bitter rivalry between Hull and Leeds at both footy and rugby league. Suppose it's like Bolton where theirs lots of rags but Wanderers hate United with a passion
