Their opinions are indeed valid, however fact and fiction are deliberately interchanged by the media then presented not as opinion but fact.

Never let the truth get in the way of a GOOD story used to be the proud boast of newspaper people. Seemingly that has now been extended to be for ANY opinion or article whatever its literary merit or original validity.

That is the point I was making. If they don't value their own opinion sufficiently to vocalise it, why should I attach any weight whatsoever to it?
