At the start of the season I was sick to the back teeth of every pundit telling us that City's defence was a weakness which could easily result in another trophyless season before repeating the soundbite they had been fed by the OT ministry of truth that, when you look at that United squad you just can't see a weakness. Mourinho teams always "find a way to win" and are far better suited to the PL than Guardiola's visionary nonsense. Now Mourinho is no longer a pragmatist but a dead hand holding back a squad every bit as talented as City's and condemning United to second place (and oblivion in the CL) instead of the world domination their superb fans deserve. Blues have a word for such logic...

I don't doubt that Guardiola would get United playing better than they are now, but I am sure that it certainly would not be this United. Pep is adamant that it is players who get the results and his first task at OT would be to get rid of the dead wood, just as he did at City. At United though this would hardly leave a member of their first eleven left. And the first through the door would be De Gea, who is a great shot stopper but a dreadful footballer. Nor is there a footballer in the back four - the fullbacks are too old and slow as well and every one of the many CBs are very good at kicking for touch but get vertigo more than 5 yards away from their own penalty area. Matic, Fellaini and Pogba are the wrong size and shape and need a football brain transplant. Pep didn't want Pogba anyway. Lukaku's chances of surviving the Pep cull would be remote in the extreme. All of which means the only players Pep MIGHT keep are Rashford, Lingard, Martial and .... Sanchez. But then with these players he'd have to see whether they matched up at all to the press hype. The he'd build a real team... Thank God he'll never go to OT!
great post also Id add to that , every pundit and media outlet telling us all that Moaninho had the advantage over Pep due to his vast prem experience some even saying the rags were title favourites this season considering what he has already spent its a poor return , I know for a fact Pep would be getting slated if it was us

Plus we all got told relentlessly that the gouger always wins the league in his second season ..

Would be amusing to see some of those forecast charts/lists each paper puts out in August where their sports journos predict the top 4 at the end of the season.

To be fair that's very good from the BBC. I would say that it came as a surprise to me that their overall average looks as though it is going to be very close by May.

Yes very good in fairness. Noticeable the number of votes for KDB as player of the year also on ESPN

It's about time this myth about City just buying titles was exploded, as far as I am concerned we invest, the other teams are trying to buy the title with stupid purchases that are so over-inflated that our club wont touch them.
No, No, no.

Listen we've bought every trophy we've won since the 2011 FA Cup.

We don't invest in the local community, we don't invest in trying to develop our own talent. Our manager is a fraud, and most importantly it'll all end in tears when our sugar daddy ups sticks and leaves.

I wish people could see the blatant truth in the press instead of glossing over all our faults

PMSL - in 5 years when we have another couple of titles, and we're bringing through more academy players, these b'stards will be desperately trying to get on the bandwagon they've already missed

very true

I posted this in the Talksport thread, but it really should be in here, it's worth a look, things are really beginning to change when Eamon Dunphy starts making sense.

Richard Dunne really nails it, his comparison between how Utd is run and how they spend their money and how we're run and how we spend our money is spot on....

Since we managed to get into the PL title race via our current owner we have been been subject to selective financial constraints that would be illegal in any other sector of business.
The reasoning was because they feared our owners ability to fund and develop City to compete with their historical right to financial success. How on earth can we expect these historical fears to subside when their worst predictions are being enacted.

They will never forgive us for defeating their warped cartel with a brand of football club management both on and off the field of play that is wiping the floor with their ideology that running a football club is a special case and can only be achieved in the distorted ways of yesteryear.
