Of course there is a negative tone to almost everything in the media about City. You'd have to be intellectually lacking not to get it. But ADUG went out of their way to enter the waters of English football with a big splash instead of slipping quietly in. Therefore they should just like it or lump it IMO. Which, to be fair, is what they do. The silence most posters complain about is the only possible response the Sheikh has open to him. He started it with Robinho and the loudmouth Chairman. Garry Cook was none too tactful at times, either. Who remembers his Stoke City comments? Unbelievably crass. ADUG were loud, brash and in your face. First impressions and all that. Khaldoon was damage limitation. So we should just accept that the media have taken their position and are quite happy to spout faint praise, half-truths and lies. Fuck 'em. Oh, and some of you need to wipe your fannies. That's the expression, isn't it?
I agree with some of what you've posted, but to suggest that the reason for the unbalanced coverage is down to the behaviour of Garry Cook or Sulaiman Al-Fahim several years ago is as wrong as the suggestion that we somehow deserve the coverage we receive and should meekly accept it.

Who mentioned jealousy? I'm talking about negativity and bias against MCFC? Always gunna b the case when the status quo gets rattled #NewEra

I think this covers most of what is seen and commented on here.

Chelsea got all manner of crap thrown at them, but then they won the PL several times in a row, and won the CL (and then the EL). The Sky3 had become the Sky4 with the expansion of CL places, and they were all still happy.

City have recently muscled in, at the same time as Liverpool have dropped a little, and Utd have dropped more noticeably. The latter is the main driver, I think - it's not so much anti-City, as it's pro-Sky4; it just manifests as rubbishing the new threat City because that's how clickbait media works nowadays.

Much of it isn't aimed at British readers anyway - I think the MailOnline goes after the millions of sheeple in less clued up football areas like the far east.

I agree completely that we should not meekly accept it but trying to prove ones innocence has always been difficult especially where the media is allowed to tweak the tigers tail of truth and spin their version of a particular event.

The fact of the matter is that the media are out of control and have become far too close to our political masters who actively seek their support to present their own lies and spin. We as subscribers must take some blame for believing their skewed reporting but with so much fantasy and lies already shown on TV I suppose we have become accustomed to accepting views of news as actual news until another version of the same story appears.

It matters to us that some of the vitriol sticks and it matters that they all appear to act in unison once a newsworthy story appears.
Why they do it is open for debate but I don't think any single reason is the cause. I know very little goes Liverpool or United's way but perhaps relatively recent tragic events make them both shall we say inappropriate targets for our lawless media.

BBC Sport and it's social media content is run from the Rag's Nest, otherwise known as Media City. It really doesn't surprise me in the slightest that their Twatter account is littered with thinly veiled digs at us. They'll all be having a laugh about it and thinking they're really clever, where as in reality, they are just bitter Rag's. Most of them grew up in an era where Ushited were winning everything, and they can't stand not being top dog's any more.

A line that more will now trot out and before you know it, it becomes a fact in the heads of Millions and used as a stick to beat us with.

Of course there is no agenda or bias and this happens to every single club........

that's right. It can now be "a reported 45M", 'cos it's been reported!
