Ray Wilkins has just said on 5Live that our current side would be "easily" be beaten by the Arsenal Invincible's and GPC's 90's Treble winning side. Not sure if it was a wind up, of he was just pissed.
The first wave of premier league pundits like Wilkins have no choice but to commit ritual harakiri. No doubt he'll be 'driving' home after the show. The second wave, like Shearer are slowly falling into line. Still can't stand the cnut though.

The true measure of the potential greatness of the team is the champions league. The treble winning rags never dominated any team in the latter stages, and fluked the final, Chelsea and the dippers were anything but the best team in the competition, and the less said about the penalty debacle in Moscow the better.

City have the opportunity to be so far ahead in the league that they can rotate and focus on dominating this years CL, which no English team has ever done. This is why Pep is saying we won’t go unbeaten, he has his eyes firmly on both, and will sacrifice points in March and April.

When we put out reserves when we’re 15pnts clear against Everton before the CL qtr final (say), the usual suspects will be out castigating us, but If, we lift that trophy in Kiev, then Dunphy, Custis, Rudd and co will finally be silenced...

Is this the same Arsenal that are sponsored by Emirates? An airline owned by Dubai? That earned its money from oil?
Nah, Dubai have no oil, they were like Abu Dhabi's workshy little brother with it's hand constantly out looking for a handout.

“The best United teams would have eaten this City team alive. They are not close at the moment, just look at the goals they have conceded.

United only won 22 games in 1998-99 (they drew 13) and squeaked past Arsenal by one point. City have won 16 out of 17 scoring 52 and conceding 11. At the same point in 1998-99 United had won 8 games, scoring 34 and conceding 20. What was that about City's defence Eamonn? Nobody's conceded fewer.

Apparently, people are getting carried away with us at the moment. "It's great what they are doing but great teams win things and they haven't won anything yet. They will win the league, but we have short memories of how great Manchester United were and also the Arsenal 'Invincibles' team." Ho hum.

So people are getting carried away, as we haven't won anything yet, but we will win the league? Hmmmm...
