I think that if we had seven Academy players on the bench then the thrust of the RDAHMeedya articles would centre around how much money had been wasted on buying foreign talent when it's clear we have a similar conveyor belt to the one MANUre have at Carrington! Whether the penny falls on heads, or tails, Pep will have made the wrong call.

There's an article in the DT this morning about the wasted legacy that John Curry, ice skater and Olympic gold medallist, forged in the 70s. I could not believe it but the shitehawk Jim White (no, not the screechy transfer window Jim White, t'other 'un) manages to make a comparison with this 'miss' and Raheem Sterling's miss! Why not, Jim. forgo the article and just print two words - Sterling and miss! Don't waste the opportunity of a good belly laugh writing about someone most people have never heard of, but if the Rag Diaspora had got to the final column there was Raheem warming the cockles of their black hearts!

I find it strange that the likes of Neville, Savage etc are who had spectacular managerial careers are questioning the rationale of arguably the best coach on the planet decision to only name six subs on the bench. Why on earth would anyone take their views seriously and debate them.

Excellent as usual from @Lucky Toma . Deserves a wider audience. Unfortunately there were plenty on here on saturday joining in with the faux outrage about six subs instead of taking a more considered view.

Very good and thanks for posting.
There have been times in recent games when we've listed 7 subs, but coming back from injury, poor form, lack of fitness, and unreliability, has meant that only two, at a stretch perhaps three, were ever going to be called upon.

much to talk sense you

Disagree Karen , and If you dont buy into the media crap , then its rather odd that you would contribute to the thread , like it or not the media does have a massive influence on how our club is perceived and i dont believe posters are daft for commenting on the mostly idiots who pass for journos and pundits and who for some , have an obvious agenda with our football club.
Pep was making a point about the many disgraceful tackles we have suffered by naming six subs , and i dont think we would have had to beam a player barely 30 minutes away , but Pep chose not to , for once this season and with hindsight he got this wrong , the PGMOL & F.A. will not take any notice of Pep's protest , but the media are having a field day .

utter bullshit

This is the legacy from the adverse press that resulted before and during our owners investment journey.

The establishment still don´t want us and they certainly don´t want us to be successful because we detract from their share of the financial rewards so the sooner we realise that fact then the less surprised we will be by the skewed views of so called experts.

We joined the ´´golf club´´ despite many attempts to black ball us but if anything that makes us even less likely to be treated fairly and we will have zero chance in the near future to get a fair crack of the whip by officialdom or their media spokespeople.

It appears other PL sides have done so this season, although possibly in the cups.

I pointed out to TLWYS a page or so back that Moyes did it against Huddersfield in a league game a couple of weeks back. Can't find one critical article online, just Hammers either speculating based on it or moaning about it.

West Ham don't command as many internet clicks as "Moneybags City".

News organisations stopped worrying about actual news a fair few years ago now; certainly since the rise of the internet and clickbait advertising.

It seems a fair few of our posters also stopped being concerned with factual news and would rather have a go at Pep.

He actually accuses Pep of ‘whinging and sulking’ in the middle of a sad piece of whinging and sulking!
Nice one Swanny - we can see why you’ve reached the dizzying heights of Peterborough today.

I've just pointed out to him on Twitter that his article comes across very sulky and whingey.
