Having lived here for a few years now, I am not sure I would call it relaxed—really depends on your work and affiliations. But as a person just visiting, I could see that. ;-)

Will do Sebastian. Never realised you were based across the pond. If I do visit I will bring a few snaps of Granada or I could just post them in the media/holiday thread? :-).

Oh no, I do not consider myself based here—merely a temporary arrangement. I plan to come back very soon as I haven’t really taken to Boston or America in general and very much miss Manchester (and Zaragoza, and other places, of course), as strange as that may sound to many.

Not even The Sun has turned me off. ;-)

And you should start a holiday thread; I could contribute quite a few photos!

10 goals in 18 games as a 20 year old striker in footballs greatest team and most high pressure environment is an incredible record...

But he plays for city

Therefore it will never be good enough unless you’re not blinded by bias
 
Just heard Chris Waddle on 5live when talking about the French squad and their first game that ‘Mendy walked out after 5 minutes as he was not happy, so all is not well’ anyone else heard about this or usual BS?
 
Most people would concede that the British media is highly biased in terms of Politics. Even those without a degree in Media or Social science realise that Newspapers have an agenda with certain sections of our society. Why then do they find it so difficult to comprehend that these agendas and bias could possibly surface within the sports pages of our media outlets.

I don’t think most do find it difficult to believe. What it is though is some believe it’s solely against City when the actual truth is that fans of every club believe the media are against them, with the usual belief that the rival club that fan supports gets favourable treatment. United fans think we get favourable press coverage and that they’re hard done to or even hated.

Most people are fully aware the guardian is left leaning and the mail is right leaning politically but for those who do not see a systematic bias in the media, in relation to City, is not due to a life long belief in journslistic integrity or even a liking for the media but simply based on the content they read.

Its not difficult to reach that conclusion when you see the likes of Martin Samuel (Daily Mail) defending Citys position on fair play or Simon Mullocks (Blue) writing for the Mirror. Sky having a dyed in wool blue as a presenter, BT sponsoring City Square, BBC featuring us repeatedly as the feature game on MOTD in addition to the platitudes we have received all season for our football from the likes of Lineker, Henry Winter (Times) etc.

If these organisations were biased against us or even colluding against us (as some claim) they are failing miserably to rein in their staff to follow this message.

A far more favourable argument would be to argue certain individuals have issues with our business model/players etc but this blanket accusation of media bias smacks of a throwaway comment with little validity.

Even now out of season Sane does not get picked for the world cup squad because he signed for City rather than Bayern, Jesus get stick because he plays for us and like wise the media want Sterling dropped because he plays for us. The accusations of bias on here are never ending. Could it not just be possible that some journalists may see the game differently to many on here and as journslists are being paid to write their opinion than part of a sinister bias against us?

Not surprisingly on the agenda thread, where conspiracies abound, I have for years been accused of being you.

But then your posts do display a lot of common sense so I can see the reasoning.
