Pep has acknowledged many times that for his system(s) to work “you need great players” who of course cost money. But the money City have spent has been within budget, has been forensically examined and cleared of any FFP issues and therefore City in fact do not have that big an advantage financially, certainly not the other so called elite teams. Except possibly City are not weighed down by crippling interest payments or venture capitalist owners so we get to watch the result of a great coach with great players. As has been said why don’t the media question how other clubs are run? They darent because they need the click bait.
In the long term, if City keep up this level or near it, the narrative will have to change as it increasingly is contrary to reality.
in the meantime the hate spreaders, naysayer and doubters can do one the silly so and so’s

What's this obsession Sly Sports have with "who can stop Manchester City?"

Of course this is a rhetorical question.

However, I've cast my mind back to Last season and I can't recall one game where the dippers went into it with the tag line attached #stopLiverpool

It was regarded as a foregone conclusion that the dippers would win and win comfortably.

Could you imagine the pre-match build up in the media if it was the rags or dippers going for their twentieth consecutive win?
Matterface toeing the same editorial line on Talkshite whilst commentating on our game.

It's the hoping we fail angle now.

When you've won 20 on the bounce I can't see what else they're going to lead with to be fair.

If you're a journalist working for a top paper could you gain as many twitter followers if you worked for your local paper having to write about missing dogs?
Would you want too?
Could you win an award for one of your pieces writing for the Skipton Herald?
Should your daily achievements be set against a backdrop of if you could?

Exactly.

Ferran Torres off, Phil Foden on. It really is an embarrassment of riches.

Perhaps the Beeb should qualify that statement with the fact that one cost us nothing and one was bought for a relatively cheap £20m?
Embarrassment of riches is a reference to our squad depth as a general point. In this context it's unfair to take the word 'riches' too literally.

I'm sure there were plenty of other barbs from the BBC, but this doesn't read like one of them.
