The media are lazy, so they trot out the easiest angle possible every time...

If City lose and Neymar and/or Mbappe score, that story is on the back burner.

If City get a result, the Treble & Pep stories are ready on the back burner.

The media angles are basically already written, so it’s just a matter of hyperbole from this point.

What I’m always more interested in seeing and hearing is some analysis of the hows and whys of how the game played out, because the Second Half will be played in Manchester and the teams will set out their stall BASED ON the First Half.

That said, there’s not much hope of getting anything decent out of Schmeichel, Carragher or Micah, so hopefully Roberto Martinez will have something worth saying!!!
