Wow. It's clear the BBC are taking the piss in reply to Gordon's complaint letter. The condescending statement "Did you know" is a real dig. I'm surprised they didn't use the bog standard piss take phrase "we are disappointed that you are disappointed".

It was about 24 hours later that I noticed they had corrected the error in the article. I think they made the initial mistakes deliberately.

Probably best to reply with an equally condescending letter laced with facts about City records and say you know they are deliberately writing lies and do intend to upset readers. They don't regret it for one second.

Yes. I loved it there. Good beer, pretty barmaids and lovely old fashioned woodwork round the bar.
The Griffin in Heald Green was my local. Good beer the most efficient bar maid lve ever seen but not a cozy pub. Really went down the nick when they made it a place to eat rather than a good boozer. The Junction in Cheadle Hulme managed to look after the beer drinkers as well as the eaters.
You’ll probably know my old man depending on how old you are ;)
Watched the Newcastle Yaya game in the Griffin, Heaton Mersey. Proper City pub that.

Did one of the landlord's from the Griffin murder his Mrs a few years ago?

Are you surprised though?
I complained to the nonce protecting oxygen thieves about Roans coverage of our exoneration at CAS and was fobbed off numerous times.
Each time they failed to respond to any of the points I raised and they eventually told me that I would need to take it to the ombudsman after they deliberately avoided responding directly.
The BBC are a disgrace and in my opinion should be defunded as they are in no way impartial with any of their reporting whether it's sport or news which contravens the terms of the licence fee that pays the wages of these wasters.
The likes of Sly have the excuse of relying on plastic Rags and Dippers for subscriptions and clicks but this lot are funded by the majority of people in this country who would be classified as criminals if they didn't pay up.
I'm not particularly political but whoever has the guts to defund this shower of shit that masquerades as our national broadcaster will get my vote for life.

Following the Roan interview of Maguire which was another pro rag propaganda piece, I wondered if the interview was instigated and funded by united's PR department, so I wrote off to the beeb with a freedom of information request

Thank you for your request to the BBC of 28th August 2020 seeking the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’):

With regard to an interview with Harry Maguire, conducted by Dan Roan which was broadcast on the BBC One 10 o'clock news on Thursday 27th August 2020
I request two pieces of information
1/ In which country was the interview conducted?
2/ Who paid for Dan Roan's travel, accommodation and sustenance?
I look forward to you furnishing me with the information requested

The information you have requested is excluded from the Act because if held it would be held for the purposes of ‘journalism, art or literature.’ The BBC is therefore not obliged to provide this information to you and will not be doing so on this occasion. Part VI of Schedule 1 to FOIA provides that information held by the BBC and the other public service broadcasters is only covered by the Act if it is held for ‘purposes other than those of journalism, art or literature”. The BBC is not required to supply information held for the purposes of creating the BBC’s output or information that supports and is closely associated with these creative activities1
.

The limited application of the Act to public service broadcasters was to protect freedom of
expression and the rights of the media under Article 10 European Convention on Human Rights
(“ECHR”). The BBC, as a media organisation, is under a duty to impart information and ideas on
all matters of public interest and the importance of this function has been recognised by the
European Court of Human Rights. Maintaining our editorial independence is a crucial factor in
enabling the media to fulfil this function. However, the BBC makes a huge range of information
available about our programmes and content on bbc.co.uk.

To be honest when I asked Google for the spelling of Ederson I didnt check it was the right one . Should of got my proof reader ( the missus ) to check it ;)
To be fair mate, I would imagine that your good lady would put the BBC proof readers to shame.
As we pay their wages, perhaps we should ask the BBC to put her on the payroll:-)
