I'm not defending Mendy either and I'm not sure what more the club can do other than give the players clear advice on how the rules affect them and on the consequences of (a) breaking them and (b) being found to have broken them. But there, does appear to be a sense that, as usual, City are being reported differently to others: the Kyle Walker story that has now mysteriously disappeared, the almost universal negative reaction to the postponement of the Everton match and the way The Sun reported Mendy's misdemeanour was full of suggestion and designed to provoke outrage. It's only my opinion but it looks, to me, like Pep was defending 'the club' as a whole not just Mendy and well done to him for doing that.No defending mendy.
