He’s not saying that mate though. The narrative was reasonable overall - and expected. The money references were OTT, because it is/was more than those two clubs would be subject to, but otherwise it’s been acceptable overall imo - given the gap between the two clubs.

There are things to get far more worked up about the media’s coverage than in relation to yesterday’s game.
I thought BBS was being sarcastic?

I’ve been trying to find a site that tallies up the number of articles on City and united in the Mail each day.

Anyone got any ideas where I can get that information?

Don't waste your time mate. As a regular lurker, not a reader, on the Daily United, you're looking at a ratio of 4-1 United and City articles per day. On match days United get even more articles. There are plenty of day's when City never get a report. Believe it it not, the Express is much worse. It's wall to wall United (and Liverpool) on their website. City don't exist as far as the Express is concerned.

They have more fans so get more coverage, it is just business.

City got more articles in the MEN and Pink than clubs in the area who were in a higher or the same division, as they want more readers.

I get that, but why do they always look for a negative angle when it comes to certain clubs/players, yet others can do no wrong? That is surely nothing to do with size of fan base.

Because a positive story about City will attract mainly our fans but a negative story about City will draw clicks from United and Liverpool fans, thus generating a bigger readership.

Yep works the other way too a negative rags scouser story gets every other football fan reading them I presume!? Seems though the media haven’t given that a go.

They are just playing to the audience.

Most of the pre-puberty clubs have paranoid 'fans', they won't buy a paper if they have an reason to think it is anti their club.

Any sensible person wouldn't buy a paper or read it online these days, you are better just watching the game and making your own mind up.

Would love to know what they replied you with

Here it is don't know why but the email went straight into my junk mail !

I still dont see what is controversial about scoring a perfectly legal goal. Might be controversial about a manager and player not knowing the off side rule , but even that's pushing it abit
