The comparison to Ferguson is utterly ridiculous. Ferguson stayed at a very rich club for a very long time, a club much richer than its rivals, he won a lot of trophies.

But no one talks about his mode of football today, no one tries to emulate the style of 1999 and not just because football has moved on.

He was not an innovator he was a mechanic, constructing a well oiled machine over many years, he won a lot of stuff, then he fucked off and left little behind, beyond screwing the club he purportedly loved. No one studies his tactics today, he brought nothing new to the game and he left nothing behind.

With the exception of a few sycophants in the media he's been mostly forgotten.
Injury time is literally Fergie-time for anyone born before 1980 so he did leave that.

Just so, tapping his watch and squeaky bum time.

But it's a terrible indictment of the man that for all his accomplishments he's remembered for that, notwithstanding his bullying and incomprehensible slurry nonsense.

It's akin to Pep retiring and being remembered only for his bald head and coatigan.

Jackson the united loving 'Forest fan' had to throw a bone to any lurking rags reading that

Most Rags have zero knowledge of anything pre 1993 and think that players have always had squad numbers.
It's also ironic that the stock market flotation that gave them the springboard to outspent everyone and dominate for so long gave The Glazers the opportunity to acquire these shares as a leveraged buyout and plunge them so deep into debt.
Oh dear, what a shame, never mind.
Was it not spuds that got the ball rolling with the first floatation and rags followed suit?

I think they did.
Another set of hypocrites who moan about money and spending.
They were balls deep in the formation of the premier league because Alan Sugar saw an opportunity to sell his set top Amstrad boxes to the masses to receive Sly Sports.

I always enjoyed Weaves' risky footwork to be fair.........

Edit: for some reason only just registered that you changed the parameters to 30 years - Coton?
We had a season in the North Stand while the were rebuilding the Kippax and we used to.joke that Coton was our playmaker. The view from their of how much of our play went through him was startlingly obvious. Even good players would pass back from midfield and he would run to the ball right shoulder about 120 degrees to the ball and welly it as hard and far as he could. Perhaps he got headhunted to the Swamp for their kick and rush style?

The media don't help the ill informed when they write reams about a new player or existing one being 'awarded' the privilege of wearing 'the famous number 7 shirt'.

Make no mistake, Pep Guardiola’s football is a celebration of individuality

I don’t think rags followed the club when Micheal Knighton was doing kick ups in front of the Stretford end. Kudos to Martin Edwards for transforming them into a dominant force in English football, however their complacency and lack of willingness to face down challengers leaves them where they are now. A bunch of deep in debt has beens trying to rig football for their gain with a super league.
I'm sure I've read that Michael Knighton, presumably in an attempt to gain credibility, pretty much blurted out the business plans he had for when he took control and someone thought "that sounds like a good plan" lets not sell. So, if anyone deserves 'kudos' for the rags transformation it's whoever piggybacked Knighton's plans and, given that he's as thick as mince, I doubt that was Edwards.

This 100%
The Rag sycophants in the media are desperately trying to keep them relevant and the thick plastics who follow them hang on their every word.
I have lots of fun pulling them apart when they start quoting the bollocks they've obviously heard on Sly or read in the Muen or Daily Fail.
I haven't bought a paper for years and I don't pay the likes of Sly or BT a penny.
I usually pick our games up on Dazn, Bein or another foreign stream which is far better than listening to bitter, irrelevant wankers like Spit, Ratboy and Camelgob.

Watched the first half of the palace game on BT till it started buffering so switched to BEIN for the 2nd and Nicky Summerbee was on. Didn’t blow smoke up our arse just saw the game for what it was. Refreshing to not hear the crap from Ian darke and his acolytes.

The joy of Iptv, like you all I want is fair, objective commentary and analysis.
I feel sorry for anyone paying to listen to the usual red shirt wankers using Sly or BT as a platform to steal a living slagging us off.
To be fair to BT they seem to have got the message as there was no sign of Darke or Camelgob for our last couple of games.
I still can't believe Sly continue to employ lowlifes like Carragher after he spat on that teenage girl from his car window or Keane after he basically admitted going out to deliberately injure a fellow professional.

do you not think it was the ball juggler who told them what they were sat on as they paid him off sharpish when money rolled in
