i reckon this is definitely the case - basically paid to market one set of teams and suppress and attack a business rival. Obviously, there are a few plastic fanboys thrown into the mix too, but some of the supposedly high profile neutral ones are far too consistant with their approach. This isn't about click bait in the main either, as an article revelling in Liverpool's demise would generate a hell of a lot of clicks, for example.

If only there was investigative reporters .....

Stop reading it Marvin l
I should stop watching BBC Breakfast by the same token but I don't.
This morning Robbie Savage was talking to his mate 'Sal' about ffitness and the amateur game. He looked as if he was competing for the Rag Tramp of the Year as he sat there. Hair a right mess and sleeves rolled up to show his tattoos whilst she stood there simpering showing her beer pouch from the side and looking as if she is running with Lucy Meacock as NW Botoxed Face of the Year. Sal and Sav sounds like a firm of solicitors on Cromwell Rd in Salford.
It's watching Breakfast as keeps me so cheerful as my Little Gran might have said.

I didn't see the bend but the whole thing was unprofessional. I felt sorry for the bobbies alongside the coach who were in the firing line just in their normal kit. It was negligent because the whole thing was foreseeable and the senior officers failed in their duty of care to City, to their own officers even to those watching on. There were messages on the Internet and fastened to lamp posts in the old fashioned way exhorting dippers to give a 'special' welcome and the intention was to put City of their game.
And of course there was little criticism in the media. As usual l ask what would have happened if the Liverpool bus had been in a similar situation at the Etihad.
I dont think you would get that many City fans to behave like that and I dont thInk the GMP would allow that situation to develop near the Etihad. Mike as supporters we are quite different to the red scouse.

i think they will be paid by the red twats, I’m certain there will be all sorts of consultants & contractors paid & the company names would be under well known scribes.

it’s a good system we take the blame from their fans whilst they commit grand theft from the inside & we carry on winning.

fck it I can live with that.
Don't need to pay them. All about promises of future access and contacts, tickling their bellies if they are obedient and roll over like good dogs

its only a joke Marvin always keeps us up to date with the latest guardian articles & tells blues not to leave comments. He’s the only blue that still reads it I think ;)

I read some of the political stuff, especially the global politics. Wouldn't go near the sports section. Mail as well, I'll read Martin Samuel's stuff but wouldn't touch the rest of the site.

Have a look at the headline on Guardian Football. No doubt there is huge inequality in Qatar and the Gulf countries but look where their telescope always points.

I scan the news every day but it disappoints me greatly that even now after all this time there are still City fans who comment in their pages. You might want to combat their headlines and message but all you will do is act as a magnet for the troll army and you end up creating a discussion that feeds them with revenue. Better not to comment.
Which headline/which article are you talking about? Is it the one with the headline “Revealed: 6,500 migrant workers have died in Qatar as it gears up for World Cup”?

You know I think it’s beyond that.

The reds genuinely need them, I really believe they pay them & wouldn’t be surprised if they pay the whole organisation. You don’t need 14 articles each day to keep others off the pages.

Maybe a freedom of information at the BBC?

There's a couple have gotten jobs with the rags, red issue, MUTV etc when they've gotten fucked off by the papers.

Exactly. GMP are not perfect but they you'd have moved on any gathering like that. Assembling outside the ground a couple of hours before kick off to give a hostile reception to the visitors- what sort of sports fan does that?
As for myself there's not much that would get me out of the Grove until half an hour before kick off.

I know. I am the early morning BBC correspondent but don't tell anyone not to watch it. In fact l like to nosey who else is awake at that time.

Like when only 2 turnstyles were opened up in the away end for the league cup semi a few years back. Not a miscalculation or oversight. Being Liverpool, you would have thought that the police and stewards would have been taking action to open more up - but no, happy to stand back and watch whilst people were getting crushed - just so their scummy team could have a bit of an advantage.
I've also been involved in frightening crushes while being penned in after games at that place, and that was well before we became the best club in the country.

The clickbait worm will turn if Messi arrives.
