Agree
I lost track of how many times they referred to City as the best team in the world and no mention of money.
Most refreshing
They mentioned the cost of our team just before game but after that the commentary was very good..in fact like you say it was refreshing to hear them compliment us.
They were very good with their appraisal of Palmer ..which was lovely to hear.
Fair play to Swindon for playing football and not kicking lumps out of us too.
Hope itv get a few more of our games in the cup.

When are their fans going to start questioning their owners? They seem to think that not investing in your football team is a virtue.
LFC have people on forums and in the media that drive the narrative that it's City that is bad for football. As soon as there's any praise for City there's a surge in anti City propaganda
It's deflection tactics. If Liverpool supporters start asking where is the money going and come round to the idea that City is a well run organisation they'll turn on LFC's owners
It's like North Korea continually blaming the USA for everything that's bad in their country and keeping them as enemy number one

The ITV coverage was great, they don't have a 24 hour sports channel that they feel the need to fill with manufactured controversies so they just talk about what's going on in the game with some neutral chat about events surrounding the teams. It's football coverage like it used to be.
24 hour sports news and chasing online clicks are why football reporting is so toxic. It's also why we have VAR I believe too. Before all this saturation coverage began match going fans were used to seeing one or two marginal offside decisions being wrong or bad referee decisions and everyone accepted it as part of the game. Now we have to have VAR because multiple angle replays show someone may have been a mm offside, the TV news channels then blow it up to show how Team A was 'robbed' by Team B, call in or text us to tell us how you feel about this injustice, leave a message on our website too and don't forget to see the replay on our twitter account. Hit like and share and go about your day.

When are their fans going to start questioning their owners? They seem to think that not investing in your football team is a virtue. Spurs and Newcastle fans would disagree. It's an act of stupidity for a club in the top 6 and it ended Arsenal's reign as a top 4 club under Wenger.

Liverpool have a great football team but their squad age is 27.5 the 4th highest in the Premier League. For context City's average age is quite high at 26.9 and Arsenal the lowest at 24.2 years. Burnley is the highest at 28.9 years.
Marvin. It suits your average deluded dipper fan to blame everything on others and bleat about unfairness and being special. They will turn on the owners when they get through their current cycle of being a highly competitive team with some truly excellent players.

For the moment we have overtaken the conservative government the scum, the Sun et al. as scouse enemy #1.

I love it

ITV were very complimentary. Pougatch got the cost of the team in pre kick off. Apart from that they were complimentary about how we showed the competition the ultimate respect along with Swindon and their fans by playing the best team we could.

I'll be interested to see how they react when the scousers play. I'm expecting a full on grief fest because they've got the Scouse variant of COVID.
